What Is Ffestiniog and What Does Seren Ffestiniog Offer?

Ffestiniog usually refers to the Blaenau Ffestiniog area of Gwynedd, north Wales. Seren Ffestiniog is a charity based there that supports people with learning disabilities, and it also runs services open to the wider community. If you are looking for 24-hour community support, daytime projects, or an accessible short break in the area, Seren is the organisation to contact — the details below let you decide whether to get in touch.

What Seren Ffestiniog is

Seren Ffestiniog was created to support people with learning disabilities while at the same time providing a service for the community. The organisation says it continues to expand and grow considerably, and its service users are described as an integral part of its developing community.

It is a registered charity and company, with the following legal details listed on its site:

Support for people with learning disabilities

Seren provides 24-hour support to people with learning disabilities living in the community. Support is based on individual needs and promotes all aspects of daily living. In practice, that means the type and level of help is matched to the person rather than delivered as a fixed package — so the first step is a conversation about what someone needs.

Projects and employment across Gwynedd

Seren runs a variety of projects throughout Gwynedd and says it currently employs over 50 people. It continues to expand, offering employment and training opportunities for the community. If you are interested in training, work experience, or project activities rather than residential support, this is the part of the organisation to ask about.

Gwesty Seren Hotel: accessible holidays and respite

Established in 2014, Gwesty Seren is a 3-star, 10-bedroom hotel specifically designed so that people with learning and physical disabilities can experience a first-class quality holiday or respite break. The facilities are intended to suit their needs and requirements as well as those of able guests. You contact Seren directly to enquire about a stay.
