What Is Frame It Easy and What Does It Offer?

Updated

Frame It Easy (frameiteasy.com) is an online custom picture framing service. You enter your artwork's dimensions, choose a frame style and mat, and the company builds the frame to order. It suits people framing photos, art prints, posters, or puzzles who want a made-to-measure frame without visiting a frame shop. The site has been building custom frames since 2004 and reports serving more than 650,000 customers, along with businesses, artists, and designers.

What you can customize

The core offer is a frame built around your piece rather than a standard retail size. According to the site, you tailor "every aspect of your frame and matting," covering:

  • Size — based on your art's measurements
  • Frame style and color — the site advertises a broad range of frame colors and styles to browse
  • Matting — including choosing a specific mat color, which customers mention as useful for pieces like puzzles
  • Finishing touches — the site refers to "every finishing touch" as part of the design flow

The site also lists framing accessories and collage frames as separate product areas.

The online design tool

The main way to order is the Frame Designer, which the site describes as an interactive tool for building a frame. You work through size, style, and finishing options in the tool, then order. Because the designer runs in the browser, the page notes that JavaScript is required — if the tool doesn't load, enabling JavaScript is the first thing to check.

If you're unsure how to measure your piece, the site publishes measuring tips and a "How to Measure Your Art" guide, plus a broader Framing 101 learning section covering topics such as how to frame a puzzle.

What arrives and what customers report

Reviewers on the site describe receiving a frame that is largely ready to assemble. One customer (Helen, Prescott, AZ) said the frame arrived with a back board, mounting, and all hardware, so "I literally only had to drop the art in." Others highlight precise mat measurements — one reviewer (Elizabeth, Long Lake, NY) needed an exact mat opening to hide staple holes in a poster and said it came out correct. Several mention fast delivery and secure packaging; one order was received in six days.

These are customer testimonials published by the company, so treat them as indicative rather than independent verification.

Is it a good fit for you?

Your situation Reasonable fit?
Framing a non-standard size photo, print, or poster Yes — custom sizing is the point
Framing a puzzle or piece needing an exact mat opening Yes — mat dimensions are specified by you
You want to see and touch frame samples first Less ideal — ordering is online
You need a frame today No — each frame is built to order

Pricing, shipping costs, and delivery estimates are shown during design and checkout rather than stated on the homepage, so confirm them in the Frame Designer before committing. The site's checkout is described as secure, but no specific payment methods are listed in the available information.

To get started, open the Frame Designer, measure your art using the site's measuring guide, and work through size, frame, and mat options in that order.
