What Is Guitar Mania?

Updated

Guitar Mania is a UK-based guitar and music equipment retailer with both a physical shop and an online store at guitarmania.co.uk. It is aimed at guitarists and musicians looking to buy instruments, amps, effects, accessories, and related gear, with the option to shop online or visit the store in the Bournemouth and Poole area.

What Guitar Mania sells

The site organises its stock into broad categories, so you can browse by the type of gear you need:

  • Guitars – including electric, acoustic, classical, bass, and left-handed guitars, plus beginner and budget models
  • Amplifiers – electric guitar amps, acoustic guitar amps, bass amps, and used amps
  • Effects & pedalboards – effects pedals, used effects pedals, pedalboards, and power supplies
  • Accessories – headphones, stands and hangers, guitar care, cases and bags, straps, pickups, spare parts, cables, tuners, strings, and picks
  • Other instruments – ukulele, banjo, and mandolin
  • PA, mixers, and mics
  • Books and Christmas gift ideas and vouchers

Brands listed on the site include Fender, Squier, Gibson, Ibanez, Jackson, PRS, Taylor, Tanglewood, Gretsch, and Vintage, among others. There is also a Sale & Clearance section and a Used & Pre Loved category.

Shopping online vs visiting the shop

Online store Physical shop
Browsing Categories, search, and product listings In-person viewing and trying gear
Buying Cart and checkout In-store purchase
Account Register or log in to manage your account Not required
Contact Phone: 01202 718886 Same phone number

The shop's opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 5pm. If you prefer to see and try an instrument before buying, the physical location in the Bournemouth/Poole area is the relevant option; if you already know what you want, the online cart and checkout let you order directly.

Practical details worth knowing

  • Free delivery threshold: The site states "Spend over £199 for FREE delivery!" — so orders above that amount qualify for free delivery (mainland UK conditions apply, as noted on the site).
  • Accounts: You can register or log in with an email address and password, and there is a lost-password option. Account data is handled according to the site's privacy policy.
  • Wishlist: A wishlist feature is available but requires it to be enabled in your browser.
  • Other services: The site also lists pages for We Buy Any Guitar!, Servicing, and Guitar Teachers, suggesting these are part of what the business offers beyond straight retail.
  • Recognition: The site cites M.I Pro Magazine rating it the "best overall shopping experience" of all the music shops in Bournemouth and Poole.

Who it suits

Guitar Mania is a reasonable starting point if you are:

  • A guitarist in or near Bournemouth/Poole who wants a local shop to visit
  • A buyer looking for a specific brand (Fender, Taylor, Gibson, etc.) or category (pedals, strings, amps)
  • Someone shopping for a beginner instrument or a budget option
  • A customer interested in used or clearance gear

If you are outside the UK or need international shipping details, the site's delivery information page is the place to check before ordering.
