What Is HeavenGames?

HeavenGames is a long-running community and content site for classic strategy games, organized into separate "Heaven" subsites for each game series. It suits players who still follow older titles such as Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, Empire Earth, and Stronghold, and who want news, community discussion, and player-made content in one place.

How the site is organized

HeavenGames splits its coverage by game rather than running everything through one feed. Each subsite has its own moderators and its own stream of posts. From the site's recent front-page activity, the active subsites include:

A site revamp note explains that Age of Empires Heaven was moved onto the main HeavenGames WordPress installation, previously hosted on its own separate WordPress site, with the stated reason being increased protection against IT attacks.

What you'll find there

The content mixes news, community updates, and fan-made material:

• News and announcements — for example, the post noting that the entire Empire Earth series was released on Steam for the first time, listing Empire Earth: Gold Edition, Empire Earth II: Gold Edition, and Empire Earth III.
• Expansion and release coverage — such as the Age of Mythology: Retold expansion The Obsidian Mirror, described as adding an Aztec pantheon with buildings, god powers, units, and a 12-scenario campaign.
• Mods and player creations — the "Blacksmith" feature spotlights community-made content, including a piece of Age of Kings history dated back to 2000.
• Subsite updates and moderation news — for example, Stronghold 2 Heaven announcing it was reopening after years of dormancy under a new moderator.
• Seasonal and archive posts — holiday messages and "From the Archives" entries that look back at earlier site activity.

Who it's for

HeavenGames fits you if you:

• Play or follow older strategy titles and want ongoing news rather than a general gaming feed.
• Are looking for mods, scenarios, and other player-made work for those games.
• Want a smaller, forum-style community — one update notes that "we may be small in number now," which is a fair signal of the site's current scale.

It's less useful if you want coverage of current mainstream releases or a large, high-traffic discussion platform.

Practical notes

• Content is organized by game, so start at the subsite for the title you care about rather than the front page.
• Posts carry comment threads, so discussion happens alongside each update.
• The site runs on WordPress, and at least one subsite was migrated onto the main installation for security reasons — expect occasional structural changes as subsites are consolidated.
