What Is Joana's Guides for Classic WoW?

Updated

Joana's Guides for Classic WoW (joanasworld.com) is a leveling-guide service for World of Warcraft Classic, run by Joana — described on the site as the Vanilla world record holder who reached level 60 in record time in 2006. It offers free starter guides and paid premium guides covering several versions of the game, viewable on the website or loaded through a free addon.

What the site provides

The core product is step-by-step leveling guidance. According to the site, the guides are available in two forms:

  • Web guides — read directly on the website, a format the site says has existed since the original Vanilla WoW.
  • Addon guides — the same content pre-loaded into a free addon, which the site describes as "sleek" and built by an addon author known for popular WoW addons.

The free addon ships with starter guides for levels 1–12 and 70–72, so you can try the in-game format before paying.

Free vs. premium content

Free Premium
Classic Era 1–12 (Azeroth) Yes —
Classic Era 12–15 (Tirisfal) Yes —
WOTLK 70–72 (Northrend) Yes —
Classic Era 1–60 (Azeroth) — Yes
TBC 60–70 (Outland) — Yes
TBC 12–20 (Ghostlands & Bloodmyst Isle) — Yes
WOTLK 70–80 (Northrend) — Yes

Premium leveling coverage runs 1–80. The site states that the Classic Era guides support Season of Discovery, Hardcore, and Anniversary modes, and that Rune quests are integrated into the Season of Discovery content.

Pricing

Two premium options are listed:

  • Monthly Everything Plan — $7.95, discounted to $5.95, auto-renewing monthly.
  • Everything Plan — $149.95, discounted to $129.95, as a one-time payment.

Both are described as giving access to the premium guides (leveling 1–80). The site's pricing signals reference a subscription, consistent with the monthly plan's auto-renewal.

Who it's for

This is aimed at players who want to level faster in WoW Classic and prefer following a fixed route rather than improvising. It's most relevant if you:

  • Play Classic Era, Season of Discovery, Hardcore, Anniversary, TBC, or WOTLK content.
  • Want guidance delivered inside the game via addon rather than in a browser tab.
  • Are willing to pay for full 1–80 coverage after testing the free starter levels.

If you only need the earliest levels or want to evaluate the format first, the free starter guides and addon cover that without a purchase.
