What Is lbccvikings.com?

Updated

lbccvikings.com is the athletics web presence for Long Beach City College (LBCC), a public community college in Long Beach, California. The "Vikings" in the domain is the college's team name and mascot identity, so the site is where you go for information about LBCC's intercollegiate sports programs rather than for the college's main academic or administrative services.

What the site represents

Long Beach City College is a two-year community college, and like most U.S. colleges it separates its general institutional website from its athletics site. The athletics site carries the school's sports branding — schedules, rosters, results, and team news — under the Vikings name.

If you arrived at lbccvikings.com expecting to register for classes, pay tuition, or check financial aid, that is not what this domain is for. Those functions live on the college's main site. The Vikings domain is the sports-facing side of the institution.

Key things to know

  • It is an educational institution site, not a store. There is no shopping cart, checkout, or commercial product catalog implied by the domain. Any merchandise you might see would be team apparel, not the site's purpose.
  • It may require JavaScript to load. The page can return a message stating that JavaScript is disabled and that the visitor must enable JavaScript and reload to continue, because the site uses a bot-verification step. If you see only that message, the content has not loaded yet — it is not a sign the site is down.
  • The mascot name is the identifier. "Vikings" is how LBCC brands its athletic teams, which is why the domain combines the school's initials with that name.

How to use it

  1. Open lbccvikings.com in a browser with JavaScript enabled.
  2. If you land on a "JavaScript is disabled" notice, enable JavaScript in your browser settings and reload the page.
  3. Once loaded, expect athletics-oriented content — team pages, schedules, and results — rather than admissions or course registration.

If your goal is enrollment, transcripts, or academic programs, go to Long Beach City College's main website instead. Use lbccvikings.com specifically when you want Vikings athletics information.
