EnglishWhat Is Legg Creek Farm and What Does the Website Offer?
Updated
Legg Creek Farm (leggcreekfarm.com) is an online nursery that sells fruit trees, nut trees, grape vines, and blueberry plants, with a focus on low-chilling fruit trees suited to the southern United States. The site is aimed at home growers who want to buy live plants online, and it backs purchases with a six-month sprouting guarantee.
What the Site Sells
The product catalog is organized into four main plant categories:
| Category | Notes from the site |
|---|---|
| Fruit trees | Described as a wide selection; the nursery's main focus |
| Nut trees | Described as a wide selection of nut-bearing plants |
| Grape vines | Listed as a product category |
| Blueberries | Listed as a product category |
The site says it is "looking to add more plants all the time," so the catalog is presented as growing rather than fixed.
Where the Plants Are Grown and Where They Thrive
According to the site's About section, the fruit trees are grown and grafted in Texas. They are selected for low chilling requirements, which makes them well adapted to the southern U.S. The site also states that the trees will "thrive in more northern climes" as well, and that once established they are very drought and heat tolerant.
This matters if you garden in a hot, humid, or drought-prone region: the nursery is positioning its stock around heat and low-chill tolerance rather than cold-hardiness.
The Six-Month Plant Guarantee
The site's most concrete purchase protection is its plant guarantee:
- Plants are guaranteed to sprout within six months of the date you receive them.
- If a plant does not sprout, the farm issues store credit equal to the purchase price of the affected plants.
- The site directs buyers to a separate "Our Guarantee" page for the full policy details.
Note that the remedy is store credit, not a cash refund, based on the site's own wording. Check the full guarantee page before ordering if the distinction matters to you.
Promotions and Other Site Features
- Free fruit tree with every order is promoted on the homepage.
- Giveaways: recent posts mention a pineapple guava giveaway (two plants shipped to two winners) and a 10-pineapple-plant giveaway run through Rafflecopter.
- Newsletter signup: an email form for product offers and updates.
- Blog: posts include book excerpts and giveaway announcements, with the most recent listed from June 2023.
What to Know Before Buying
- Pricing: product pages use "Buy Now" buttons, but the homepage excerpt does not list prices. You'll need to open individual product listings to see current pricing.
- Shipping and availability: the site does not state shipping regions or seasonal availability in the material reviewed here, so confirm these at checkout.
- Guarantee terms: the six-month window starts from the date you receive the plants, so keep your delivery date on record.
If you're shopping for low-chill fruit or nut trees for a southern garden, Legg Creek Farm is a Texas-based online nursery worth browsing; start with the fruit tree category and read the full guarantee policy before you order.
