What Is Link Extractor?

Updated

Link Extractor is a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers that pulls every link or domain out of a page, a block of text, your clipboard, selected tabs, or a PDF. It is the right tool when you need to gather many URLs at once — for research, auditing, archiving, or bulk opening — rather than clicking through a page link by link.

What it does

The extension's core job is extraction: it scans a source and returns a clean list of links or domains. From there you can copy the list, download it as a text file, or open the links in tabs.

Sources it can read from:

  • Any site — extract all links and domains from the current page
  • Selected text — highlight text on any site and extract the links inside it
  • Clipboard or any text — paste or pull text and parse the URLs from it
  • All selected tabs — collect links across multiple open tabs at once
  • PDF documents — extract links from PDFs

Ways to use the results

Once you have a list, the extension supports several follow-up actions:

  • Open multiple links in tabs directly from text
  • Download links and domains as a text file
  • Copy to clipboard for pasting elsewhere
  • Copy the text from a link via the right-click context menu

Filtering and saved patterns

If a page returns hundreds of links, filtering is what makes the output usable. Link Extractor supports:

  • Quick filter with a regular expression to narrow results
  • Storing regular expressions for reuse
  • Import and export of saved regular expressions, so patterns can move between machines or be shared

How you launch it

You can start an extraction from any of three entry points:

  • The extension icon in the toolbar
  • The context menu (right-click)
  • Keyboard shortcuts

It also follows your browser's automatic dark/light mode setting.

Install and platform support

Browser Where to install
Google Chrome Chrome Web Store
Mozilla Firefox Firefox Add-ons
Microsoft Edge Edge Add-ons
Other Chromium-based browsers Chrome Web Store

Mobile browser support is available for Firefox and Yandex.

When to choose it

Pick Link Extractor if your task is bulk link collection — gathering every outbound domain on a page, harvesting URLs from a long document or chat log, or opening a set of links at once. It is a general-purpose utility, so it fits research, SEO-style link review, content archiving, and any workflow where copy-pasting links one at a time would be slow.

If you only need to open a single link, a built-in browser feature is enough and the extension adds nothing.

Getting help

Usage instructions live in the project's Documentation, and common questions are covered in the FAQ. Bugs go to the issue tracker, ideas and requests to the feature request form, and there is a Discord server for support.
