What Is Longneck Outfitters?

Longneck Outfitters is a guided hunting operation based in Lubbock, West Texas, specializing in Sandhill crane and goose hunts along with other migratory game bird hunting. According to the company, it has been a leader in professional waterfowl hunts for over two decades. It is a fit for hunters looking to book guided crane, goose, duck, teal, snow goose, or dove hunts in the West Texas area rather than hunt unguided on their own.

What Longneck Outfitters Offers

The site lists five guided hunt categories:

• Guided Crane Hunts — Sandhill crane hunting in the southern Texas panhandle
• Guided Goose Hunts — the company's signature offering
• Duck and Teal Hunts
• Guided Snow Goose Hunts
• Guided Dove Hunts

The operation also runs Longneck Lodge, which appears as a separate section of the site alongside an FAQ, gallery, team page, and contact page.

Where It Operates

Longneck Outfitters is headquartered in Lubbock, West Texas. Its crane hunting takes place in the southern Texas panhandle, which the site describes as a significant wintering habitat for cranes.

The Crane Season Window

According to the site, cranes arrive in the southern Texas panhandle and tend to remain there until mid-March, before starting their northward migration. That wintering period is the window the company frames as its crane hunting season.

How the Goose Hunts Are Structured

The site describes its goose hunting excursions as morning-only, which it says leaves the team time to scout and secure the ideal fields for the next day's hunt. Field hunts are the primary format. The company notes that its approach is adaptable, with occasional waterfowl hunts depending on whether suitable water sources are available.

Who It's For

This is a guided-service operation, not a do-it-yourself access point. It suits hunters who want:

• A booked, guided hunt rather than scouting their own fields
• A West Texas base of operations, with lodging available through Longneck Lodge
• Crane or goose hunting specifically, with duck, teal, snow goose, and dove as additional options

The site states that the guiding team, while young, has experience guiding and hunting across the nation, and that multiple trucks go out daily during the season to put groups on birds.
