What Is Max VR List?

Updated

Max VR List (maxvrlist.com) is the official Mario Kart Max VR List — a community-maintained record of the highest known VR (Versus Rating) and BR (Battle Rating) achievements across Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's the place to check whether a given max rating has already been recorded, who holds it, and when it was set.

What the site tracks

The site organizes its data by game and by rating type:

Section What it covers
MK7 VR Max VR records for Mario Kart 7
MK8 VR / BR / CR Max VR, Battle Rating, and Coin Rating records for Mario Kart 8
MK8DX VR / BR / CR Max VR, Battle Rating, and Coin Rating records for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Simultaneous Records achieved simultaneously across multiple rating categories
Stats Aggregate statistics and leaderboards
All Max Ratings / AMR Consolidated max rating listings, including pre-MK8DX AMR
Miscellaneous MKDS wins, Tencent MK8DX VR, max count rankings, speedrun rankings, rating leaderboards

So the site serves two related purposes: a verification list of confirmed max achievements, and a set of rankings (total rating, speedrunning, max counts) built from that data.

Who it's for

  • Players chasing a max rating who want to know if their result qualifies for the list and how it compares.
  • Speedrunners and stat-trackers looking at rating leaderboards and speedrun rankings.
  • Anyone verifying a claim about a Mario Kart max VR or BR record.

How records get on the list

The list is community-maintained rather than automatic. If your max doesn't appear, its date is inaccurate, or you want your nickname changed, the site directs you to contact staff via Twitter or Discord. The site also publishes About and Rules pages, which are worth reading before submitting — they define what counts as a valid record.

Practical notes

  • The site is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Japanese.
  • It covers Mario Kart 7, 8, and 8 Deluxe, plus some miscellaneous Mario Kart stats (MKDS wins, Tencent MK8DX VR).
  • Mario Kart and its trademarks belong to Nintendo; the site is an independent record-keeping project, not an official Nintendo service.

If your goal is to confirm a record, compare ratings, or submit an achievement, start with the game-specific section (MK7, MK8, or MK8DX), then check the Rules page before contacting staff.
