EnglishWhat Is Men of Distinction?
Updated
Men of Distinction (menofdistinction.net) is a South Carolina–based live band that performs at weddings and corporate parties. The site presents the group as "South Carolina's Premiere Wedding Band" and describes a show that moves from swing, big band, and jazz arrangements into a full dance party as the night goes on. If you are planning a wedding, corporate function, or similar formal event in or around South Carolina and are looking for a live band rather than a DJ, this is the kind of service the site covers.
What the band offers
According to the site, Men of Distinction is built around:
- Male and female vocalists
- A two-piece horn section
- A rhythm section
The stated approach is to open with "smooth and stylish" sophisticated arrangements of swing, big band, and jazz, then shift into an all-out rocking dance party by the end of the event. The repertoire is described as spanning "timeless hits" from years past through recent party favorites.
The band also describes itself as a "Cammy Award winning super band" and says it is a first choice among many event professionals.
Who it is for
The site positions the group for two main event types:
| Event type | What the site says |
|---|---|
| Weddings | Marketed as South Carolina's premiere wedding band |
| Corporate parties | Listed alongside weddings as the band's core entertainment offering |
It also mentions live performances and music lessons as part of what it provides, though the main emphasis is on event entertainment.
How planning and booking work
The site names David Kitchings and Buddy Parker as the people who guide clients through the process — from planning music selections through the event itself — with the stated goal that "your satisfaction is our main goal."
A contact phone number is listed on the site: 800.323.3599. There is also a mailing list signup for email updates.
The site does not publish pricing, package tiers, or booking terms, so rates and availability would need to be confirmed directly by phone or through the contact process.
Other details on the site
- A video from November 2021 is featured.
- Performer bios are included, such as Richard Carey Figueroa (stage name Riché Rich), described as "The Energizer of Entertainment" with 40+ years on stage and in the studio, and Jennifer Davis, a Daytona Beach native who began singing at age 3.
- A section lists universities and colleges attended by band members.
- A past appearance is noted: a July 4th, 2024 celebration at the Orangeburg County Fairgrounds.
Bottom line
Men of Distinction is a live wedding and corporate party band serving South Carolina, with a swing/big band/jazz foundation that transitions into dance music. If you want a live band with vocalists and horns for a formal event, the site gives you the band's style, leadership contacts, and a phone number to start a booking conversation — but you will need to reach out directly for pricing and availability.
