What Is Opengist and What Is the "All Gists" Page?
Updated
Opengist is a self-hosted pastebin-style service for sharing code snippets and text, and the "All Gists" page is its public index: a single list of every gist stored on that instance. You land there when you want to browse what others have posted, search for a snippet, or sort the collection by recency rather than opening a specific gist you already know about.
What the page actually shows
The heading is simply "所有 Gists" (rendered as "All Gists" in the interface), and the list is a flat feed of gists. Each entry carries a small set of metadata rather than the full file:
- Author / gist name — shown as
owner / gist, for exampleBluey / Privoradmin / tt. - Last active time — relative timestamps such as "14 hours ago," "4 days ago," or "1 week ago."
- Counters — the numbers trailing each row (for example
0 0 1 1) represent engagement signals like likes and forks. In the captured listing most entries sit at0 0 1 1, meaning the gist exists and has a single revision but has not been liked or forked.
The page also exposes controls at the top: a search field, a sort selector, and filter tabs for Recently liked and Recently forked.
How to use it
- Browse — scroll the default list, which is ordered by most recent activity.
- Search — type into the search box to narrow the list to gists matching your term.
- Sort — use the sort dropdown to switch between recently created and recently updated, in either newest-first or oldest-first order.
- Filter — click Recently liked or Recently forked to see gists ranked by those signals instead of by time.
- Open a gist — click an entry to view its full content and revision history.
The expected result of steps 2–4 is a shorter, reordered list; the underlying gists are unchanged, only the view changes.
What the content tells you about the instance
The listing is dominated by short, throwaway snippets — test files (test test), placeholder strings, and game-script fragments (several entries contain Luau/Roblox game:GetService(...) code). This is typical of a demo or open instance: it is a place where people paste code to share a link, not a curated library. If you are evaluating Opengist as software, this page is a useful sample of how gists are presented, but the content itself is not representative of a private or production deployment.
Common points to note
- Everything listed is public. The "All Gists" page only makes sense as an index of publicly visible gists; private ones would not appear here.
- Timestamps are relative, so "1 week ago" is approximate and shifts as you reload.
- The counters are not a quality signal. A
0 0 1 1row is simply an unliked, unforksed gist with one revision — not a broken or empty one. - Search and sort operate on this instance only. Opengist is self-hosted, so a different deployment has its own separate "All Gists" list.
