EnglishWhat Is Palmetto Animal Hospital?
Updated
Palmetto Animal Hospital (palmettoanimal.com) is a veterinary practice in Florence, South Carolina, that treats dogs and cats. It offers wellness and preventative care, surgical care, puppy and kitten care, and dental care, and it is open six days a week with booking available by phone or online. It is a general companion-animal practice, not an emergency hospital or a specialty referral center, so it fits routine and preventive needs for a dog or cat in the Florence area.
Who the practice serves
The hospital describes itself as "Florence's Home for Dogs and Cats" and says it welcomes new clients every day. Care is limited to dogs and cats; the site does not list exotic pets, livestock, or large animals.
Its stated approach is wellness care: a protocol tailored to each animal that considers everything from vaccines to the family's lifestyle. In most pets, that basic wellness protocol includes routine preventive services.
Services listed on the site
| Service area | What it covers, per the site |
|---|---|
| Preventative care | Wellness visits and vaccines as part of a tailored protocol |
| Surgical care | Surgical services for dogs and cats |
| Puppy & kitten care | Care for young pets starting out |
| Dental care | Pet dental care named among the hospital's offerings |
The site presents these under "Comprehensive Care for Every Pet," framed around lifelong health, comfort, and happiness. If your pet needs a service not listed here, call before booking to confirm it is offered.
Hours, booking, and client tools
- Open 6 days/week. The site does not publish specific daily hours, so confirm them when you call.
- Booking: the site offers online booking and a phone line for appointments ("Call to book your pet's appointment").
- PetDesk app: clients can store vaccination records and appointment schedules in an app that links directly to the hospital's systems. The site states all app features are free to clients of the practice.
- Online store: the hospital urges clients to order pet products through its own trusted online store to avoid scams and counterfeit products.
Reputation and team
The hospital says it was voted "Best Veterinarian" in the 2022 Best of the Pee Dee contest, and that Dr. Chandler Bruening was also named "Best Veterinarian" in that contest. These are the practice's own statements about the award.
Named veterinarians on the site include Dr. Lee Burnett, Dr. Samantha Camlin, Dr. Kati Tice, Dr. Laurie Kavanaugh, and Dr. Chandler Bruening. The site describes the staff as professional and courteous, providing veterinary care, surgical services, and pet dental care.
Payment and cost
The site links to a Payment Plans page, which indicates financing or payment options may be available. It does not publish prices for visits or procedures, and no specific payment platforms are named in the available information. Ask about costs and payment plan eligibility when you call.
