EnglishWhat Is Prosperity Tree in Carmi Plaut's Product Design Work?
Updated
Prosperity Tree is a product design project listed in Carmi Plaut's portfolio on bycarmi.com. It appears as one entry among many design series rather than as a standalone brand, shop, or login-gated service. If you are trying to understand what it is, the most accurate answer is: a named design collection within a broader body of work by a designer whose site describes three decades of product design for iconic products.
Where Prosperity Tree Sits in the Portfolio
The site's own listing places Prosperity Tree under the heading Product Design, alongside other named projects such as Mid-Mod Century, Graphio, Animania, Instrumentals, Fender Stiletto, Judaica Design, Rhapsody Cafe, Happy Cat, Holiday Cheer, Wishing Star, Desk Jewels, Spexy Eyeglass Accessories, Canton Rooster, Spiral, Woman of Valor, Santa's Key, iSeat, and Road Trip.
That grouping matters. It tells you Prosperity Tree is one of several design lines, not the site's main identity. The homepage description frames the designer as a product designer and artist, with Prosperity Tree named as one of the products designed over a long career.
What It Is Not
Based on the available page evidence, you should not assume Prosperity Tree is:
- A storefront with listed prices
- A membership or account area
- A separate company with its own site
No pricing signals, payment platforms, or login requirements appear in the source material. Treat it as a design credit and portfolio category unless you find separate commercial pages elsewhere.
How to Read the Rest of the Portfolio
Because Prosperity Tree is presented as one item in a list, the useful next step is comparison. The same page groups work into recognizable clusters:
| Cluster | Examples | What it suggests |
|---|---|---|
| Product design lines | Prosperity Tree, Graphio, Spiral, Happy Cat | Named design concepts or product families |
| Tableware and home | Batik Table, Canton Rooster, Windward Nautical Tableware | Functional home objects |
| Accessories | Desk Jewels, Spexy Eyeglass Accessories, Eyeglass Holders | Small personal or desk items |
| Editorial and satire | Topical & Satire, The Politican, ObamaHead | Commentary-driven visual work |
| Digital and web | Web Design, eCards, Mazel.tv Live Streaming | Screen-based projects |
Seeing Prosperity Tree next to Graphio and Spiral, rather than next to the editorial or web categories, is the clearest signal of its type: a product design concept, not a publication or platform.
Practical Takeaway
If you arrived looking for a product to buy, this page does not support that. If you arrived as a designer, researcher, or someone tracing Carmi Plaut's work, Prosperity Tree is best understood as a named product design project within a multi-decade portfolio that spans tableware, accessories, Judaica, editorial illustration, and web work. To judge its style or purpose, compare it with the other Product Design entries on the same site, since the portfolio itself provides the context the individual listing does not.
