What is Scarecrow Art Studio?
Updated
Scarecrow Art Studio is a free-hand motorcycle artwork and pinstriping studio that has been producing distinctive motorcycle art since 1980. It specializes in eagles, scenes, flames, feathers, cartoons, pinstripes, and custom requests on GoldWing and Harley-Davidson motorcycles, painted on-site while you wait—no disassembly and no clear coat required.
What the studio offers
The work is done entirely freehand with a paintbrush rather than an airbrush, which the studio says allows for more detail. A signature technique is loading three or four different colors on the same brush at once, giving finished artwork and stripes a three-dimensional quality. The studio calls this rare approach Sumi-E Art, and it involves leaving the motorcycle's background color as part of the finished design.

Experience and background
The studio's history includes decades of Harley-Davidson work. After Harley-Davidson created the Harley Owners Group (HOG), the studio was one of three pinstriper/artists approved by HOG to work in the HOG Vendor Tents, alongside the late George Williams and the late Art Perfetti. The artist attended dozens of HOG national rallies and Daytona and Sturgis Bike Week events throughout the 1990s and 2000s, painting hundreds of Harleys.
For its first four years on the road, the studio worked exclusively in motorcycle dealership showrooms, painting new bikes before they were sold. Its first rally appearance was at the Gold Wing National Rally.
Who it suits
This service fits riders who want custom, one-off artwork applied directly to a motorcycle without leaving the bike for disassembly or a clear-coat process, and who value freehand detail over airbrush work. Because the paint is designed for continuous outdoor exposure and the work carries a lifetime guarantee, it also suits owners who plan to keep and ride their bikes in all weather rather than treat the artwork as show-only.
To see examples of finished work, the studio points visitors to its Harley photo galleries.
