What Is Scratch Addons?
Updated
Scratch Addons is a free, open-source browser extension that adds new features and themes to the Scratch website and project editor. It bundles many separate improvements into one configurable interface, so you install it once and then turn individual features on or off. It is aimed at Scratchers who use the Scratch website and editor regularly and want more control over how those tools behave.
How it works
Scratch Addons is built from addons — individual features or themes. Each addon can be enabled or disabled, and many expose their own settings. The extension provides one interface for managing all of them, rather than requiring a separate extension per feature.
The extension is available in many languages beyond English, including Spanish, Russian, Japanese, and French. It is free, open source, and built by a community of Scratchers.
What kinds of features does it add?
The highlights below are examples, not the full list.

Who it's for
Scratch Addons suits Scratchers who:
- Want editor and website improvements without installing many separate extensions
- Prefer to choose exactly which features are active
- Use Scratch in a non-English language and want localized tooling
- Care that the tool is open source and community-built
If you only need one small tweak, a single-purpose extension might be simpler. Scratch Addons makes more sense when you want several improvements managed in one place.
Getting started
- Open scratchaddons.com and go to the Install section.
- Add the extension to your browser.
- Open the Scratch Addons interface (for example, via the extension icon) to browse addons.
- Enable the addons you want and adjust their individual settings.
- Reload the Scratch website or editor so the changes take effect.
If a feature doesn't appear, check that its addon is enabled and that you reloaded the page afterward.
