What is St Brandon's in Brancepeth?

Updated

St Brandon's is the parish church serving Brancepeth village and the surrounding area. Its stated purpose is both to worship God and to share God's love through its activities as a church and as individual Christians. Church members meet for worship each week and at special times throughout the Christian year, and the church says all are always welcome.

Worship and visiting

  • Sunday morning services take place in the church building and are also livestreamed on the church Facebook page.
  • Private prayer: the church building remains open for individual private prayer every day from 9.30 am until dusk. Visitors are invited to take photos or simply sit in the stillness.
  • Online access: the Facebook page includes live streams and recordings of many services, so those who cannot attend in person can still follow along.

  • Spruce Up Day — Friday 18th September, 10am–3pm. A day for jobs not covered by regular weekly cleaning, including notice boards, cupboards and drawers. Sitting-down jobs are available, and soup, rolls and refreshments are provided. Sign up on the list at the back of church.

Who it is for

St Brandon's presents itself as a village parish church with an open door: weekly worship, private prayer access every day, activities for children and young people, and community events such as the tidy-up and spruce-up days. If you are new to the area or simply curious, the Sunday morning service or a quiet visit during opening hours are the most direct ways to see what the church is doing.
