EnglishWhat Is Taylor Publications LLC?
Updated
Taylor Publications LLC is an online retailer and resource hub for a cappella music, describing itself as "Your #1 source for everything a'capella." It sells hymnals, compact discs, songbooks, printed books, and digital downloads, with a catalog aimed mainly at churches, worship leaders, and individuals who sing without instrumental accompaniment. If you are looking for a cappella recordings, shape-note or standard hymnals, or PowerPoint and sheet music files for worship, this site is built around that niche.
What the site offers
The catalog is organized into five main areas, each with its own subcategories:
| Category | What it includes | Examples from the site |
|---|---|---|
| Compact Discs | Recordings by a cappella groups, choirs, and ministries | Acappella Company, Dallas Christian Sound, Florida College Chorus, Zambian Acappella |
| Hymnals | Printed song collections for congregational or group singing | Praise Hymnal, Songs of Faith & Praise, Songs for Worship and Praise |
| Paperless Hymnal | Digital hymn display products | Listed as its own top-level category |
| Books | Songbooks plus reading material | Children/Youth Books, Hymn Stories, Theology, Grief, Worship Resource |
| Downloads | Digital files for purchase | Music Download, PowerPoint Download, Sheet Music Download |
The download section is the largest by count, with music downloads, PowerPoint downloads, and sheet music downloads each numbering in the hundreds.
Who it is for
The category structure points to a few distinct audiences:
- Churches and worship leaders — hymnals, paperless hymnal products, and PowerPoint downloads support congregational singing and projected lyrics.
- Choirs and singing groups — CDs, choral collections, and sheet music serve performance and rehearsal needs.
- Individuals — hymn story books, devotionals, and recordings for personal listening or study.
- Specific communities — categories such as Spanish, Mennonite Choirs, Sacred Harp, and shape-note notation titles (for example, Best of Southern Gospel in hardback shape-note notation) indicate material for particular traditions.
How pricing and purchasing work
Featured products show listed prices and an "Add to Cart" action. Examples from the site include:
- Praise Hymnal 2020 Maroon — $16.99, noted as limited quantity with a pointer to Praise Hymnal 2025 Maroon
- Songs For Worship And Praise Blue B1021 — $24.99
- Songs For Worship And Praise Maroon B1020 — $24.99
- Best of Southern Gospel hardback, shape-note notation — $16.99
The site references an "upgrade" option, but no payment platforms or shipping terms appear in the available page content, so check the cart and checkout pages directly for those details.
Practical things to know before you buy
- Check the edition year on hymnals. The Praise Hymnal 2020 Maroon listing is marked limited quantity and points buyers toward the 2025 edition, so confirm which printing you need before ordering.
- Match the format to your use. The same title may exist as a printed hymnal, a PowerPoint file, and a song index. Songs for Worship and Praise, for instance, appears as a book and as a PowerPoint product, and the listings reference a song index.
- Note the notation style. Some titles, such as Best of Southern Gospel, use shape-note notation, which differs from standard round-note hymnals.
- Downloads are separate products. Digital music, PowerPoint, and sheet music downloads are sold as their own categories rather than bundled automatically with physical items.
If your goal is finding a cappella recordings, a hymnal for your congregation, or projection-ready worship files, the site's category browsing is the fastest way in: start from Compact Discs, Hymnals, or Downloads depending on what you need.
