What Is the Claremont College Website For?

Updated

The site at claremontcollege.education.tas.edu.au is the official website of Claremont College, a senior secondary school in Tasmania for students in Years 11 and 12. Use it to learn what the school offers, how enrolment works, which courses are available, and how to contact or visit the campus. It is an information and communications hub for prospective students, current students, parents, and the wider community — not an online learning platform or application portal.

Who the College Is

Claremont College was established in 1990 and sits overlooking the Derwent River, about 15 km from Hobart. It draws students from city and rural areas across the Midlands and Derwent Valley. The college describes itself as friendly in size, with smaller classes, modern facilities, and high-quality teaching staff, and notes national awards for quality teaching, educational excellence, initiative, and innovation.

What You Can Find on the Site

The navigation and homepage content point to these main areas:

  • Enrolment — including an "Open Enrolment" section, the starting point for families considering the college.
  • Courses — the range of programs preparing students for university or further education, traineeships and apprenticeships, or employment.
  • Students and Parents — student support, programs and activities, library, newsletter, forms and documents, absentee reporting, and the school calendar.
  • About — background on the college, including its history and setting.
  • Contact Us — address, phone, and social media links (Instagram and Facebook).
  • Newsletter — ongoing news and updates from the college.

The homepage also highlights a comprehensive tutorial and enrichment program intended to give students a balanced, personalised education.
