EnglishWhat Is The Magnificent Art of Orna Ben-Shoshan Website?
Updated
The Magnificent Art of Orna Ben-Shoshan (ben-shoshan.com) is the official showcase for the visionary, surreal, and spiritual paintings of artist Orna Ben-Shoshan. It is aimed at visitors who want to view her artwork and understand the ideas behind it, rather than at buyers looking for a conventional online store. The site presents her paintings alongside her background, creative philosophy, and published writing.
What the site is
The website functions as an artist's gallery and introduction. Its stated purpose is to let visitors "step into another dimension" through Orna Ben-Shoshan's work, which blends deep mysticism with subtle humor. The framing is experiential and reflective: a painting on your wall is described as "like having a window to another dimension."
Who the artist is
According to the site, Orna Ben-Shoshan has been a self-taught (autodidact) artist for the past 30 years. Her work has been exhibited in numerous locations across the USA, Europe, and Israel. Her stated motivation as a visual artist is to share her visions with others, expand their consciousness, and inspire new ways of thinking.
The style and themes of the work
The paintings are described as metaphysical and visionary, combining:
- Surreal imagery — scenes that depart from ordinary reality
- Spiritual and mystical content — drawing on metaphysics and mysticism
- Subtle humor — a lighter tone woven into serious themes
The site explains her process in unusual terms: her artwork involves opening her consciousness and channeling images from "a different realm of existence." All of her paintings are said to be completed in her mind before she transfers them onto the canvas.
Background influences
Orna Ben-Shoshan's long-standing interest in metaphysics and mysticism led her to study the Kabbalah and alternative philosophies. She shares this knowledge through articles and short essays that have been published in magazines worldwide alongside her paintings.
