What Is the PlayStation Official Site and What Can You Do There?

The PlayStation official site is playstation.com. Use it to browse PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, games, accessories, and PlayStation Plus, and to reach support. Buying and pre-ordering happen on a separate storefront, direct.playstation.com, which the official site links to. Start at playstation.com when you want official product information; go to direct.playstation.com when you are ready to purchase.

What you can do on playstation.com

The homepage is organized around a few main areas:

• Consoles: PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro, each with a "Find out more" page and a "Buy now" link.
• Games: Featured titles and promotions, such as The Grounds (PS5 only), Ghost of Yōtei with an expanded game mode and narrative expansion, Battlefield 6 with its Rapid Royale mode, and a mythology-based title offered for pre-order.
• Accessories: DualSense Wireless Controller, DualSense Edge Wireless Controller, PULSE Elite Wireless Headset, PULSE Explore Wireless Earbuds, Access Controller, and PS5 Console Covers.
• PlayStation Plus: A dedicated "Discover PlayStation Plus" section.
• Support: Entry points for account, warranty, and device help.

Product pages describe what each item does. For example, the DualSense page highlights responsive haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects; the DualSense Edge page lists remappable buttons, tuneable triggers and sticks, changeable stick caps, and back buttons; the Access Controller is described as a highly customisable PS5 controller kit designed to make gaming more accessible.

Browsing vs. buying: two different paths

The official site separates information from commerce. On product cards you will usually see two links:

Examples of direct store links include the PS5 Pro Console (2 TB), the white DualSense Wireless Controller, the PULSE Elite headset, the PULSE Explore earbuds, the DualSense Edge controller, and the Access Controller. A limited-edition DualSense controller tied to Grand Theft Auto VI is listed with a "Pre-order now" link. Prices and availability are shown on the store pages themselves; the official site does not state them in advance.

A practical walkthrough

1. Open playstation.com in your browser and confirm the domain before entering any account details.
2. Use the console section to compare PS5 and PS5 Pro. The PS5 Pro is positioned as playing PS5 games "with the most impressive visuals ever possible on a PlayStation console."
3. Check accessory pages for compatibility details — for example, whether a headset or controller is listed for PS5, PC, Mac, or mobile.
4. When ready to purchase, follow the "Buy now" link to direct.playstation.com and complete checkout there.
5. For login, warranty, or device problems, use the support entry rather than a search result or third-party page.

Verification: after any purchase, confirm the order in the store account you used at direct.playstation.com, not on the informational site.

Common pitfalls

• Lookalike domains. Only playstation.com and direct.playstation.com are referenced here. Typo domains and third-party "deals" sites are not official.
• Assuming the site is free of login requirements. Some areas, such as PlayStation Plus and account support, involve signing in; the site does not state that everything is accessible without an account.
• Expecting prices on the info pages. Pricing and pre-order terms live on the store pages.
• Missing regional differences. The site is presented in en-US, so availability and promotions may differ in your region.
