What is the Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA) website?

sdba.org.sg is the official website of the Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA), the National Sports Association (NSA) for the sport of dragon boat in Singapore. It serves as the central hub for the association's news, race calendar, national team information, certification programmes, membership matters, and boat rental. If you are looking to enter a race, get certified as a coach or official, join a team, or simply follow the sport in Singapore, this is the starting point.

What the site covers

The homepage presents the association's identity and then routes visitors into a handful of core areas:

• Events and races – an overview of SDBA-organised competitions plus a race portal for registration and results
• National team – information about the national squad, its competitions, and related policies
• Services and certifications – Basic HELM, Level 1 Coaching, and National Race Official (NRO) pathways
• Membership – how memberships work and a "Find a Team" function
• Rent a Boat – a dedicated entry point for boat rental enquiries
• News – announcements, notices, and updates

Races listed on the site

The events section lists a full season of competitions with dates and venues. The following were shown at the time of the page content:

Race registration and results are handled separately, with dates and venues announced for each respective race.

News and announcements

The "Latest News" section carries association-level notices and community updates. Examples visible on the page include the Notice of SDBA AGM 2026, Race Bulletins, the SDBA AGM 2025 Notice, Pesta Sukan 2025, congratulatory notes for newly minted International Race Officials (IROs), Lunar New Year greetings from the SDBA President, and a Chinese New Year closure notice. These posts are the place to check for deadlines, closures, and official announcements.

Certifications and services

Three certification tracks are named on the site:

• Basic HELM – a foundational safety and helm certification
• Level 1 Coaching – entry-level coaching certification
• National Race Official (NRO) – officiating certification for races

Alongside these, the site offers a Rent a Boat service and a Find a Team function under membership, which is useful if you want to paddle but do not yet belong to a crew.

How to use the site

1. To enter a race – go to the Events section, pick the race, and follow the race portal for registration and results.
2. To get certified – open Services > Certifications and choose the track that matches your role (helm, coach, or official).
3. To join a team – use Membership > Find a Team to connect with an existing crew.
4. To rent a boat – use the Rent a Boat entry point.
5. To stay current – check Latest News for AGM notices, race bulletins, and closures.

The site also links to SDBA's social channels (for example, @sdba_sg), which carry registration reminders and event highlights.
