What Is the Soldiers of God (SoG) Clan and How Do You Join?
Soldiers of God (SoG) is a Christian gaming clan that plays on Xbox Live, with its community organized mainly around the Call of Duty series (including CoD and CoD6). You do not need to be a Christian to join — the stated requirement is simply that you believe and respect the clan's faith-based atmosphere. The practical first step to joining is registering on the official forum at soldiersofgod.forumotion.com, because most of the clan's content is hidden until you have an account.
What SoG Is
SoG describes itself as a Christian clan on Xbox Live that "has fun and believes in God." Two things follow from that description:
- It is a gaming clan first. The activity is Xbox Live multiplayer, primarily Call of Duty titles, so you need an Xbox Live account and the relevant game to take part in matches.
- It is explicitly faith-oriented. The clan identity is Christian, and the forum is where that identity is expressed and where members coordinate.
The clan's own framing is inclusive on membership: non-Christians are welcome, provided they are comfortable with — and respectful of — a Christian environment. That is the main condition to check against your own expectations before you invest time in joining.
Where the Clan Lives Online
SoG runs on three channels, each doing a different job:
| Channel | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Official forum (soldiersofgod.forumotion.com) | Registration, full topic access, recruitment posts, member discussion |
| Public updates and a way to reach the group | |
| YouTube | Posted content and clan media |
The forum is the center of gravity. Its homepage states plainly that you need to register to see all the topics, which means an unregistered visitor sees only a fraction of the board — announcements, recruitment threads, and member sections stay hidden.
How to Join
- Go to the official forum at soldiersofgod.forumotion.com.
- Register an account. This is the gate: until you register, the full topic list is not visible, so you cannot read recruitment requirements or sign-up threads.
- Read the recruitment and rules sections once you are logged in. This is where the clan's expectations for members — behavior, activity, and the faith-related tone — are set out.
- Post an introduction or application in the appropriate thread. The forum is a Forumotion/phpBB-style board, so the standard flow is: open the relevant board, start a new topic, and state your Xbox Live gamertag and the games you play.
- Connect on Facebook and YouTube to follow announcements and confirm you are in the right place if forum activity is quiet.
- Add members on Xbox Live once you have made contact, and join scheduled sessions.
Expected result: after registering and posting, you should be able to see the full board, read recruitment criteria, and be visible to existing members who can respond to your application.
Common Snags
- "I can only see a couple of topics." That is by design, not a bug. Register first.
- Registration or login fails. The forum runs on Forumotion, a free forum platform, so an outage on that side can block sign-ups. Check whether the platform itself is reachable, then try again later rather than assuming the clan has closed.
- The forum looks inactive. Clan communication also runs through Facebook and YouTube. If the board is quiet, those pages are the better route to reach current members.
- You are not religious. That is not automatically a barrier — the clan's own description says non-Christians may join. What matters is whether you are comfortable in a Christian clan and willing to follow its rules.
Is SoG a Good Fit for You?
Join if you play Call of Duty on Xbox Live, want a structured group with scheduled play, and are at ease in an explicitly Christian community. Look elsewhere if you want a purely competitive, faith-neutral team, or if you are unwilling to register on a forum as your entry point — that registration step is not optional here.
