EnglishWhat Is the Suncoast Bridge Association (ACBL Unit 102) Website?
Updated
unit102.com is the official website of the Suncoast Bridge Association, the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) unit serving players in the Sarasota/Bradenton area of Florida. It is an informational hub for local duplicate bridge players: the homepage identifies the organization as "ACBL Unit 102" and gives upcoming tournament dates, making it the place to check before planning to play or watch an event.
Who the site serves
The site is aimed at two overlapping groups:
- ACBL members in Unit 102 — players in the Sarasota/Bradenton region who want unit news and tournament schedules.
- Local bridge players and visitors — anyone looking for upcoming ACBL-sanctioned events in the area, including sectional tournaments.
It is not a general bridge-learning resource or a commercial playing site; its focus is the unit's own community and calendar.
What you'll find on the homepage
The page is deliberately simple. The visible content centers on:
| Element | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Organization name | "SUNCOAST BRIDGE ASSOCIATION" and "ACBL UNIT 102" |
| Upcoming tournaments | A listed event: Sarasota Sectional Bridge Tournament, November 11–13, 2026 |
That tournament listing is the clearest signal of the site's purpose: it functions as a noticeboard for unit-sanctioned play. If you are deciding whether to attend, the homepage gives you the event name and dates; details such as venue, session times, and entry requirements would need to come from the unit directly or from linked tournament information, which the homepage excerpt does not spell out.
How to use it
- Check the tournament listing first. The homepage surfaces the next known sectional, so it is the fastest way to see whether an event fits your calendar.
- Confirm you're in the right unit. If you play in or near Sarasota/Bradenton, this is your ACBL unit; players elsewhere should look up their own unit through the ACBL.
- Treat dates as the starting point. The listing gives November 11–13, 2026 for the Sarasota Sectional. Before traveling, verify the schedule and any participation conditions with the association, since the homepage alone does not publish them.
What it is not
Because the site is a unit homepage rather than a full tournament-services portal, don't expect results databases, online entry purchase, or lesson catalogs based on what the homepage shows. For those, ACBL's main services or the tournament organizer would be the appropriate source. The value of unit102.com is narrower and useful: it tells you who the local unit is and what is coming up.
