What Is uk.airfix.com and What Can You Find There?

Updated

uk.airfix.com is the official Airfix website: an online shop for Airfix scale model kits plus a hobby hub with modelling advice, news, a community forum and membership information. It is aimed at both newcomers looking for a first kit and experienced modellers starting a new project. The site describes Airfix as a leader in scale model kits, with kits designed in the UK.

What the site sells

Airfix kits cover iconic aircraft, vehicles, ships and spacecraft across various scales. The homepage highlights several ways in:

  • Aircraft kits — for example, the Phantom FG.1 in 1:48 (285 parts, 245 mm wingspan, three Royal Navy schemes, Skill Level 4) and a two-seat Jaguar in 1:48 with tandem cockpit, T.2 and T.4 versions and three paint options.
  • Other categories — vehicles, ships and space subjects, alongside starter and gift sets.
  • Quickbuild and bundles — simpler builds and multi-kit packages.
  • New for 2026 — a dedicated section for upcoming releases.

Each product listing gives details such as part count, dimensions, marking or paint options and a skill level, so you can judge whether a kit matches your experience before buying.

Beyond the shop

The site is more than a storefront. It also offers:

Section What it provides
Advice Guidance on getting started, essential tools for Airfix modelling, and an explanation of Airfix skill levels
Blog & News Workbench articles and updates, such as new kit arrivals and event coverage
Community / Forum A place to ask questions and share builds with other modellers
Membership Benefits including 10% off all orders on the Airfix website
Support Help sheets, guides, manuals, videos and tutorials for products

For a beginner, the skill-level guide and the "essential tools" advice are the most useful starting points, since they tell you which kits suit your experience and what equipment to buy alongside one.

Practical details worth knowing

  • Delivery: Free UK delivery on orders over £40, according to the site.
  • Payment: Flexible payment options are advertised; specific providers and terms are not stated on the page.
  • Reviews: The site displays 5-star Yotpo reviews.
  • Newsletter: You can sign up for news, competitions and offers; the sign-up notes that emails may be personalised based on browsing or purchase history and that you can unsubscribe at any time.

Who it is for

If you want to buy Airfix kits directly, check release news, or learn how to build and finish models, the site covers all three. If you only want to browse other brands or compare kits across manufacturers, this is a single-brand site, so you would need other retailers for that.
