What is Vortex Ultimate on vortexultimate.weebly.com?

Updated

Vortex Ultimate is the women's ultimate frisbee team at St. Olaf College, and vortexultimate.weebly.com is its team homepage. The site is a Weebly-built page that collects the program's news, season results, video links, leadership announcements, and roster information. It is aimed at players, recruits, alumni, and supporters who want to follow the team.

What the site covers

The homepage is organized as a running record of the program rather than a formal informational site. Its main content areas are:

  • Team identity — the page is titled "Vortex Ultimate St. Olaf College," establishing the team and school.
  • Nationals results by year — D3 Nationals 2023 in Obetz, Ohio (7th place), D3 Nationals 2022 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (3rd place), D3 Nationals 2019 in College Station, Texas (3rd place), and D3 Nationals 2018 in Rockford, Illinois (1st place).
  • Video and highlight links — game footage (for example, Vortex v Haverford-Bryn Mawr and Vortex v Mt Holyoke), a "Journey to Natties 2023" highlight video, Confregionals Highlights 2022, and 2019 Nationals highlights credited to Dave Clements.
  • Leadership announcements — for the 2021-2022 season, captains were Anna Mulhern '22, Elsa Anderson '22, and Carolina Schuster '23.
  • External feature — a link to "Ultimately Together," described as a website featuring women's college programs, with a page dedicated to Vortex.

Site structure

The navigation lists these pages:

Page Likely purpose
Home Season news, results, and video links
About Us Background on the team
Contact How to reach the team
Social Media Links to team accounts
2022-2023 Roster Player list for that season

Who it is useful for

  • Prospective players can check the roster page and About Us to understand the program before contacting the team.
  • Alumni and supporters can follow Nationals placements and watch linked game footage.
  • Other college programs can use the "Ultimately Together" link to find similar women's team pages.

What to keep in mind

The site is a team-run page on a Weebly template, so content is updated around the season rather than on a fixed schedule. The most recent roster shown is for 2022-2023, and the latest Nationals result listed is 2023, so anything after that may not appear here. For current contact details or tryout information, use the Contact and Social Media pages rather than assuming the homepage is up to date.
