What Maze Types Are Available on Maze Toys?
Updated
Maze Toys offers five distinct ways to play: Just Maze (standard 2D mazes), Corn Maze (first-person 3D), Circular Maze (concentric rings), plus two challenge formats — Faultless (no backtracking or wall hits) and Race the Clock (solve as many as possible in a set time). Each type comes in Mini, Medium, and Mighty sizes, and Just Maze adds a Mega tier. Pick based on how you want to experience getting lost: flat and relaxed, immersive and 3D, or under pressure.
Just Maze: standard mazes, four daily sizes
This is the baseline mode — straight-up mazes for people who want to lose themselves with little or no stress. It's the right starting point if you just want a classic maze without extra rules.
Daily sizes available:
| Size | Notes |
|---|---|
| Mini Maze | Daily |
| Medium Maze | Daily |
| Mighty Maze | Daily |
| Mega Maze | Daily |
All four are refreshed daily, so there's a reason to come back. If you're unsure where to begin, start with Mini and move up.
Corn Maze: the maze from the inside
Corn Maze changes the perspective entirely. Instead of viewing the maze from above, you navigate corridors in first person 3D and hunt for the exit. This is the mode to choose when you want the experience of physically walking a maze rather than solving a diagram.
Available sizes: Mini Corn Maze, Medium Corn Maze, Mighty Corn Maze.
Because you can only see what's in front of you, this mode rewards patience and spatial memory more than pattern-spotting from a bird's-eye view.
Circular Maze: concentric rings, side to side
Circular Maze replaces the grid with concentric rings. Your goal is to navigate from one side of the rings to the other — described on the site as "a whole new way to get lost."
Available sizes: Mini Circular, Medium Circular, Mighty Circular.
If standard square mazes have become predictable, this is the structural change of pace.
Faultless: no mistakes allowed
Faultless is a rule variant rather than a layout. You must complete the maze with no backtracking and no wall hitting. Break either rule and you're sent straight back to the start. The site's own framing: "It's harder than you think."
Available as Faultless Mini, Faultless Medium, and Faultless Mighty.
Choose this when a normal maze has stopped being challenging — the difficulty comes from precision, not size.
Race the Clock: timed, multiple mazes
Race the Clock asks you to complete as many mazes as you can within a given time frame. The site frames the trade-off directly: play it short and fast, or long and slow.
Time options by size:
| Size | Time frames (minutes) |
|---|---|
| Teensy | 1, 3, 5, 10 |
| Mini | 3, 5, 10, 30 |
| Medium | 5, 10, 15, 60 |
This is the mode for players who want a score-style goal rather than a single solved maze.
Which mode should you pick?
- Want to relax with a classic puzzle? Just Maze, any size.
- Want immersion and a 3D viewpoint? Corn Maze.
- Want a different maze geometry? Circular Maze.
- Want precision pressure instead of time pressure? Faultless.
- Want a timed challenge with a score? Race the Clock.
Sizes scale difficulty within each mode, so you can stay in a favorite format and still adjust how hard it gets.
