What Official Frictional Games Merchandise and Books Are Available?

Updated

Frictional Games has announced two official products beyond its games: a Simon Jarrett plushie from SOMA and Amnesia: Design Works, a book covering the writing, design, and art of the Amnesia series. Both were announced on the studio's official site, and those announcement posts are the places to check for current availability details.

Simon Jarrett Plushie (SOMA)

The plushie is modeled on Simon Jarrett, the protagonist of SOMA. The announcement describes him as "the cross-century man himself," with "a body built to withstand deep underwater trenches and the mind of a lost puppy," and carries his line, "Please don't leave me alone..."

  • Status: Announced as available in a post dated 18 June 2024, filed under Announcement, Games, News, and SOMA.
  • Where to confirm details: The official post "Simon from SOMA plushie available now!" on frictionalgames.com. The site excerpt does not list price, shipping regions, or a store link, so check that post (and any linked store page) before ordering.

Amnesia: Design Works

A book that "delves deep into the writing, design and art of the Amnesia series." According to the announcement, it chronicles the development of all four Amnesia games:

Game covered Notes
Amnesia: The Dark Descent First entry in the series
Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs
Amnesia: Rebirth
Amnesia: The Bunker Described as "the darkest Bunker"
  • Status: Announced in a post dated 24 November 2025, filed under Announcement, Games, News, and all four Amnesia titles.
  • Where to confirm details: The post "Announcing Amnesia: Design Works 🌹" on frictionalgames.com. The excerpt does not state a price, release date, or retailer, so treat the announcement as the starting point rather than a purchase page.

How to Check Availability Before Buying

  1. Go to frictionalgames.com and open the News or Posts feed.
  2. Find the relevant announcement ("Simon from SOMA plushie available now!" or "Announcing Amnesia: Design Works").
  3. Read the full post for any linked store, price, or shipping information. If the post links out, the linked store page is the authoritative source for price and availability.

Common Pitfalls

  • Assuming the announcement equals a live store listing. The site excerpt confirms the announcements but not pricing or checkout details; verify on the full post or linked store.
  • Confusing these with game releases. Both items are merchandise/books; game updates (such as the Amnesia: The Bunker 1.31 patch) are separate news items.
