What Product Series and Specifications Does DC Airco Offer?
Updated
DC Airco offers standard and custom HVAC and battery thermal management units organized into named series, with each series defined by a configuration (Monoblock, Air to Air, or Liquid to Liquid), a cooling and heating power range, and primary/secondary voltage options. The four series shown on the site — DC6000, DC24000, DC13000, and DC12000 — illustrate how the ranges differ by application. If you need a unit outside these ranges or a non-standard combination of voltage and heating option, DC Airco also lists custom products alongside its standard catalogue.
The four series at a glance
| Series | Target applications | Configuration | Cooling | Heating | Heating options | Primary voltage | Secondary voltage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DC6000 (DC6001) | E-Mobility, Battery/Equipment, Truck/Mining | Liquid to Liquid, Monoblock | 3 – 8.5 kW | 2.1 – 6.9 kW | Heatpump | 630/350 Vdc | 24/12 Vdc |
| DC24000 (DC24001) | Rolling stock | Air to Air, Monoblock | 0.5 – 7 kW | 0 – 4.5 kW | Electric Heating | 400 Vac | 24 Vdc |
| DC13000 (DC13500) | Truck/Mining, Defence/Rescue | Air to Air, Monoblock | 0.5 – 5 kW | 0 – 1.5 kW | Cooling Only, Electric Heating | 630/350/48/24 Vdc | 24 Vdc |
| DC12000 (DC12700) | Battery/Equipment, Defence/Rescue | Air to Air, Monoblock | 0.5 – 5 kW | 0.5 – 4.2 kW | Cooling Only, Electric Heating, Heatpump, Heatpump + Electric Heating | 630/350/48/24 Vdc | 24 Vdc |
All four are listed as Monoblock configurations. The distinguishing variables are the heat-transfer medium (liquid-to-liquid versus air-to-air), the power band, and how much heating flexibility the unit supports.
How to read the specification dimensions
Cooling and heating capacity
Cooling ranges from 0.5 kW (DC13000, DC12000) up to 8.5 kW (DC6000). Heating ranges from 0 kW — meaning cooling-only operation — up to 6.9 kW on the DC6000. The DC6000 is the only series here whose heating output is a substantial fraction of its cooling output, which fits battery and equipment thermal management where warming is as important as cooling.
Configuration
- Liquid to Liquid (DC6000): both sides of the heat exchange use liquid, typical for battery/equipment cooling loops.
- Air to Air (DC24000, DC13000, DC12000): heat is rejected to air, typical for cabins and enclosures on vehicles and rail cars.
Voltage
Primary voltage options split into DC and AC:
- High-voltage DC: 630/350 Vdc, used across DC6000, DC13000, and DC12000.
- Low-voltage DC: 48/24 Vdc, available on DC13000 and DC12000.
- AC: 400 Vac on the DC24000, the rolling stock series.
Secondary voltage is 24 Vdc on three series and 24/12 Vdc on the DC6000.
Heating options
The available options, from least to most capable, are: Cooling Only, Electric Heating, Heatpump, and Heatpump + Electric Heating. Only the DC12000 lists all four. The DC6000 offers Heatpump only; the DC24000 offers Electric Heating only.
Standard versus custom products
DC Airco separates its offering into Standard Products, Custom Products, and a Unit Catalogue / Full Catalogue. The series above are the standard, catalogue-listed units. Custom products are positioned for needs that the standard ranges do not cover — for example, a required voltage combination, capacity, or heating option outside the table. The site does not publish pricing or ordering terms for either category, so commercial details would need to come from a direct enquiry.
Choosing between series
- Battery or equipment thermal management with high heating demand → DC6000 (liquid-to-liquid, heatpump, up to 8.5 kW cooling / 6.9 kW heating).
- Railway rolling stock → DC24000 (air-to-air, 400 Vac primary, up to 7 kW cooling).
- Truck, mining, or defence/rescue with flexible voltage → DC13000 (air-to-air, 630/350/48/24 Vdc, cooling-only or electric heating).
- Battery/equipment or defence/rescue needing the widest heating choice → DC12000 (air-to-air, all four heating options, up to 4.2 kW heating).
If your required capacity, voltage, or heating mode falls outside these bands, the custom product route is the relevant next step rather than forcing a standard unit.
