EnglishWhat Squads Does East Grinstead Swimming Club Offer?
Updated
East Grinstead Swimming Club (egsc.co.uk) lists two squad groups on its website: a Junior squad for swimmers under 19, and a Masters squad for ages 19 and over. If you are trying to work out which group fits you or your child, the split is based on age, with training times published separately on the club's timetable page.
The two squads at a glance
| Squad | Age group | Listed as |
|---|---|---|
| Junior | Under 19 | Squads – Junior (U19) |
| Masters | 19+ | Squads – Junior (U19) and Masters (19+) |
The club presents these as its main squad structure, so the first decision point is simply whether the swimmer is under 19 or 19 and older.
Junior squad (U19)
This is the group for swimmers who have not yet turned 19. It sits alongside the club's other youth-facing information, including codes of conduct written separately for swimmers under 18 and swimmers over 18 — a sign that the club distinguishes between age bands even within its junior pathway.
If you are a parent or guardian, the club also publishes a specific code of conduct for parents and guardians, which is worth reading before your swimmer joins.
Masters squad (19+)
The Masters squad is for adults aged 19 and over. It is grouped together with the Junior squad in the club's navigation, so both are treated as core squad offerings rather than separate programmes.
How to check training times
Squad training times are not listed on the squads page itself. The club publishes a separate Timetable page, which is where you should look for session days and times for either squad.
Joining and trying out
The club's site includes a Join EGSC section and a Try-Outs page, so prospective members can find out how to join or arrange a trial rather than only reading about the squads. Membership details sit under the same navigation area.
Getting in touch
If the squad descriptions leave anything unclear — for example, which squad a swimmer on the boundary age should join, or what standard is expected — the club invites contact directly:
- Location: Kings Centre, Moat Rd, East Grinstead, RH19 3LN
- Email: [email protected]
- Contact form: available on the Get in Touch page (requires JavaScript enabled in your browser)
For anything beyond the age split, the club's own contact channels are the reliable route, since the website does not publish detailed squad criteria beyond the age groupings.
