What the NERFPLZ.LOL Champion Tier List Shows for the Current Patch

Updated

The NERFPLZ.LOL tier list ranks every League of Legends champion by role for the current patch. It is built for pick decisions: you choose your role, compare where champions sit, and use that ordering alongside the site's counters and team comp pages. It reflects the live patch, not a forecast — next-patch changes are tracked separately on the PBE page.

What the tier list covers

The site's own description of the page is short: "Current patch — Every champion ranked by role." That tells you the two things that matter most:

  • Scope: the full champion roster, not a shortlist of popular picks.
  • Grouping: rankings are split by role, so a champion's position is relative to others competing for the same slot rather than to the roster as a whole.

Because the list is tied to the current patch, its value comes from being current. A ranking you remember from an earlier patch is not the same list — balance changes move champions between tiers, and the page is meant to be checked again after each update.

How to use it for champion picks

The tier list answers "who is strong in this role right now," but it does not answer "who should I pick in this draft." The site separates those jobs, and using the pages together gives a more complete picture:

  1. Start with your role. Open the tier list and read only the section for the role you are filling. Comparing across roles mixes different pools and tells you little.
  2. Shortlist two or three champions near the top of your role that you can actually play. A high rank on a champion you have never piloted is not a practical pick.
  3. Check counters before locking in. The site maintains a counters section; a strong champion can still be a poor choice into a specific opposing pick.
  4. Sanity-check the draft. The Team Comp Analyzer takes both sides' picks and reports a chance of winning along with readings for hard CC, frontline, magic damage, physical damage, and durability. If your shortlisted champion leaves the comp without frontline or with only one damage type, the analyzer makes that visible before you commit.
  5. Re-check after patches. Treat the list as patch-specific. When a new patch lands, the ranking you used last week is out of date.

A concrete example

Suppose you are picking mid and the tier list puts Vex near the top of the role. That is a signal about her strength this patch, not a verdict on your game. If the enemy has already locked a mobile, dash-heavy champion, the counters page is the next stop. If your team has locked Vayne as the carry, the site's featured team comp Point and Click (Vex & Vayne) is directly relevant: it is built around crowd control that is aimed at champions rather than at the ground, so it cannot be sidestepped. That is the kind of context the tier list alone will not give you.

What the tier list does not tell you

  • It is not a next-patch preview. Changes on the test server are collected on the PBE page under "Next patch." If you want to know what is coming, that is a separate page from the current tier list.
  • It is not a draft solver. Role strength and draft fit are different questions. The analyzer and counters pages cover the second one.
  • It is not a substitute for your own champion pool. Rankings describe the patch; they do not describe your comfort or experience on a champion.

Related pages worth knowing

The tier list sits inside a broader set of tools on the same site, and knowing which page does what saves time:

Page What it gives you
Tier List Every champion ranked by role, current patch
Counters Matchup information for specific picks
Team Comp Analyzer Win chance plus CC, frontline, damage type, and durability readings for a draft
PBE Every change on the test server, i.e., next patch
Skins in 3D Every skin for every champion, viewable in 3D
LoL Trivia Records and lore facts, plus a playable trivia game

For pick decisions, the practical loop is tier list → counters → analyzer, repeated whenever the patch changes.
