What Types of Events Does Jim Spinnato Perform For?

Jim Spinnato performs comedy hypnosis and comedy magic shows for a wide range of events, including colleges, prep schools, high school fundraisers, post-prom and post-grad parties, corporate functions, comedy clubs, theaters, casinos, fairs, expos, and sports organizations. His shows are based in New England and have been performed throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. If you are planning a school event, corporate gathering, or public venue show in that region, his format is likely a fit.

School and Student Events

The site lists the following school-related bookings:

• Colleges
• Prep schools
• High school fundraisers
• Post-grad parties
• Post-prom parties

The show relies on audience volunteers, which makes it a participatory format rather than a passive stage act. For schools, that means the entertainment depends on students volunteering from the crowd. The site describes the presentation as "the perfect comedy presentation for any event" and frames the humor around volunteers "releasing their comedic abilities" under hypnosis.

What to check before booking a school date

• Confirm whether the event is a fundraiser, prom-adjacent party, or assembly, since the site lists these as separate categories.
• Ask about volunteer screening if your school has restrictions on student participation.
• Verify travel availability for your specific location within the New England service area.

Corporate Functions, Clubs, and Theaters

The site names corporate functions, comedy clubs, and theaters as performance categories. This suggests the show scales from private corporate entertainment to ticketed public venues. The Mohegan Sun engagement is the clearest example of the theater and casino format: "Hypnotic Hysteria" has been featured bi-monthly at Comix Mohegan Sun Casino since 2010.

For corporate planners, the relevant question is whether the audience will volunteer. A comedy hypnosis show works when attendees are willing to come on stage; a more reserved corporate crowd may produce a different energy than a college crowd.

Casinos, Fairs, Expos, and Sports Organizations

The site lists venues and organizations where the show has appeared, including:

This list is useful as a fit signal: the show has been booked for large public crowds, family-oriented fairs, and branded sports events, not only school and corporate dates.

Comedy Magic as a Separate Option

Jim Spinnato also offers comedy magic shows, listed as appearing every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Mohegan Sun Casino. The site directs visitors to a separate comedy magic site for that format. If your event is not suited to hypnotism — for example, a setting where volunteers are unlikely or hypnosis is inappropriate — the magic show is the alternative to ask about.

Regional Availability

The site states the comedy hypnosis shows can be seen throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. It also notes a Travelers' Choice "Best of the Best" 2025 recognition from Tripadvisor. For events outside New England, the site does not state travel terms, so availability should be confirmed directly rather than assumed.

Next Show and Ticketing Reference

The next listed Comix Mohegan Sun Casino show is Sunday, November 28, 2026 at 3:30 PM, with tickets available through a link on the site. This is useful if you want to see the format before booking it for your own event.
