What Types of Social Proof and FOMO Nudges Does Nudgify Offer?

Updated

Nudgify offers five nudge categories: Social Proof, FOMO, Reviews, Urgency, and Discounts, plus a Custom Nudge option. Each type is designed to show visitors real activity or time pressure on your site, and you can add them to a standalone website or a Shopify store. The exact nudge you pick depends on what you want to signal — other people's behavior, limited availability, or a deadline.

Social Proof nudges

These display real-time user activity so visitors can see what others are doing on your site. Nudgify's page lists:

  • Live Visitor Count — shows how many people are currently online.
  • Sales Pop — highlights recent purchases.
  • Recent Sign-ups — shows new registrations as they happen.

The underlying idea, as Nudgify quotes Jonah Berger: "Making something more visible makes it easier to imitate." Showing who else is online or buying is meant to make the site feel more human and give visitors a cue to act.

FOMO nudges

FOMO nudges create scarcity around a product rather than around other people's behavior:

  • Low Stock Nudge — signals that a product is running out.
  • Selling Fast Nudge — signals that a product is moving quickly.

Both are aimed at increasing desire to buy by implying the item may not stay available.

Review nudges

Review Nudges let you display real reviews from Trustpilot or Google Reviews anywhere on your website. Instead of only showing ratings on a product page, you can surface your best reviews as social proof in other locations. Nudgify describes this combination of review integrations as part of what makes it a "powerful social proof solution."

Urgency nudges

Urgency nudges put a time limit on a sale rather than a stock limit:

  • Order Soon Nudge — creates a deadline so customers take action sooner.

This differs from FOMO nudges in what's scarce: FOMO is about quantity, urgency is about time.

Discounts and Custom Nudge

The feature list also includes Discounts and a Custom Nudge option, alongside the Social Proof, FOMO, Reviews, and Urgency categories. The Custom option is for cases where the prebuilt nudge types don't match what you want to display.

How the nudges are displayed

Nudgify shows these as non-intrusive notifications, in one of two formats:

Format What it means
Overlay The nudge floats over the page content
Inline The nudge sits within the page layout

You can tailor nudges to fit your website's design, and notifications are available in 32 languages. Nudgify states it is used by over 4,000 brands (elsewhere on the page, "over 3100 brands") across 138 countries.

Which type should you start with?

  • Want to show traction on a new or low-traffic site? Start with Social Proof (Live Visitor Count, Sales Pop, Recent Sign-ups).
  • Selling limited inventory? Use Low Stock or Selling Fast.
  • Have strong reviews on Trustpilot or Google? Use Review Nudges to surface them beyond the product page.
  • Running a time-limited promotion? Use the Order Soon Nudge.

You can test-drive the app for 7 days with no credit card required, and add it either to your own site or to Shopify. Pricing details are listed on Nudgify's separate pricing page.
