What Worship Service Times Are Listed for Mt. Olive Lutheran Church?
Updated
Mt. Olive Lutheran Church lists three regular weekly worship times: Sunday Divine Worship at 8:15am and 10:45am, and a Monday Evening Service at 6:30pm. If you are planning to attend, the main variable to check is Holy Communion, which follows a set schedule rather than being offered at every service.
Weekly Worship Schedule
| Service | Day | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Divine Worship | Sunday | 8:15am |
| Divine Worship | Sunday | 10:45am |
| Evening Service | Monday | 6:30pm |
The Sunday 8:15am service is also the one described as live-streamed, along with other special services.
When Holy Communion Is Offered
Holy Communion is not celebrated at every service. According to the church's listed practice:
- 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month — Holy Communion during the service.
- Every Monday — Holy Communion during the evening service.
- 2nd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of the month — Holy Communion at noon, with a short spoken order of service.
That last point matters if you are mapping out your week: on those Sundays there is a separate noon communion service in addition to the 8:15am and 10:45am services.
Communion Practice for Visitors
Mt. Olive states that it participates in the practice of "Closed Communion." Visitors are asked to speak with one of the pastors before communing. If you are new to the church and intend to take communion, plan to arrive early enough to find a pastor beforehand, or contact the church in advance.
Watching Online
If you cannot attend in person, the church live-streams its Sunday morning early service at 8:15am along with other special services. Video bulletins and archives of past services and sermons are also available, and the church notes a podcast hosted by Pastors Ulrich and Soule.
Quick Checklist Before You Go
- Pick your service: Sunday 8:15am, Sunday 10:45am, or Monday 6:30pm.
- Check whether the date falls on a communion Sunday (1st/3rd Sunday, any Monday, or noon on the 2nd/4th/5th Sunday).
- If you plan to commune and are a visitor, arrange to speak with a pastor first.
- If attending remotely, use the 8:15am Sunday live stream or the service and sermon archives.
