What Worship Services Does Del Ray United Methodist Church Offer on Sundays?

Updated

Del Ray United Methodist Church (delrayumc.org) offers two Sunday worship services: a 9:30am Monthly Family Worship geared toward kids and their families, and a 10:30am Traditional Worship that includes hymns, a message, and communion. Which one fits you depends on whether you're bringing children or prefer a traditional service format.

The Two Sunday Services at a Glance

Service Time Format Best for
Monthly Family Worship 9:30am Fun, age-appropriate worship designed for kids and their families Families with children
Traditional Worship 10:30am Hymns, a message, and communion Those who prefer a traditional service

9:30am — Monthly Family Worship

This service is described as a fun, age-appropriate worship experience for kids and their family. The "monthly" label suggests it follows a recurring schedule rather than meeting every week, so if you're planning a first visit around this service, confirm the specific dates on the church website before you go.

10:30am — Traditional Worship

The later service follows a traditional format: hymns, a message, and communion. It's the option to choose if you're looking for a classic Methodist worship style rather than a family-oriented program.

Fall Ministry Kick-Off Beginning September 6

Starting September 6, Sunday mornings at Del Ray UMC will "look different," according to the church. The congregation describes the change as offering something for everyone to "plug in, engage and grow." If you're planning to visit in early fall, check the website for the updated schedule details before attending, since the service lineup may shift with the kick-off.

How to Choose and Prepare

  • Bringing children? Start with the 9:30am Family Worship, but verify the monthly dates first.
  • Prefer hymns and communion? The 10:30am Traditional Worship is the direct fit.
  • Want schedule updates? The church invites visitors to sign up for its monthly newsletter, which lists upcoming dates and current information. The signup form is on the website.

Both services are listed on delrayumc.org, where the church also posts details about the Fall Ministry Kick-Off and the newsletter.
