What Happens Across the Three Days
The festival is a York Rite event, and the conferral of Degrees and Orders is its centerpiece. According to the festival site, the schedule includes:
- Sunday evening — Candidate Orientation
- Monday and Tuesday — Conferrals of the Degrees and Orders
- Monday evening — Fellowship Banquet with entertainment
- Tuesday, 11:30 AM — Ladies' Luncheon
The site notes that while attending the conferral is the "Masonic Motivation," the weekend is also built around camaraderie, fraternalism, education, and cooperation.
Why the Venue Matters for Planning
Holding the event at Don Laughlin's Riverside Casino means attendees can extend the trip into a vacation. The site points out that the location gives guests the chance to stay a few extra days, and that the surrounding area offers Nevada-style entertainment along with nearby destinations such as Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon West, and the London Bridge in Lake Havasu.
Who Attends
York Rite Masons from Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah gather each October to confer the Degrees and Orders on candidates as a courtesy to their home Bodies. The festival site states that over its more than quarter-century history, it has conferred these Degrees and Orders on well over 1,000 candidates from twelve jurisdictions across North and South America. Sojourning candidates are welcome, and candidates can start a courtesy-work request if they are being sponsored.
Practical Notes
- Registration for the 2026 festival is open through the festival website.
- Questions can be directed to the committee at [email protected].
- Ladies' program runs alongside the festival and includes a hospitality room, the luncheon, and the Royal Arch Widow's Degree; the site advises registering your lady for the Tuesday luncheon.
- Volunteers are also sought to help run the festival.
If you are planning around either date, the venue and city are the same for both years, so travel and lodging arrangements can follow the same pattern — only the October weekend shifts.
