When and Where Does EDQG Hold Its Monthly Meetings?

Updated

The Edmonton & District Quilters' Guild (EDQG) normally meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm, with no meetings in December, July, or August. The in-person venue is the ATA (Alberta Teacher's Association) building at 11010 142 St NW, Edmonton, AB — but for the September 2026 through January 2027 meeting season, all guild meetings are being held via Zoom because the ATA building is under renovation after summer flooding.

Attending in Person

When the ATA building is available again, meetings take place at 11010 142 St NW in Edmonton. The guild notes that the ATA experienced a number of floods over the summer and is currently under renovation, so check the website before planning to attend on-site — the Zoom-only arrangement covers September 2026 through January 2027.

Attending via Zoom

Zoom is not just a temporary substitute; the guild also offers a Zoom option for members who can't attend in person. To get the connection details, contact [email protected]. During the current renovation period, Zoom is the only way meetings are held, so this email is the practical first step for anyone planning to join a meeting.

Before You Go

  • Confirm the date. Because December, July, and August are skipped, the "third Wednesday" rule doesn't apply in those months.
  • Check the format. The Zoom-only period runs through January 2027; confirm the status of any meeting after that date before traveling to the ATA.
  • Membership questions. Membership is open to anyone interested in quilting, and joining or renewing is handled through the guild website. General inquiries can go to [email protected].

The guild also lists other events beyond monthly meetings, such as a Vintage Sewing Day on November 29 (1–5 pm at Meadowlark Community Hall, 15961-92 Ave NW) and its next Quilt Festival on June 4–5, 2027.
