Where can you play KDice and who can you play against?

Updated

You can play KDice in a web browser, through the free iPhone and Android apps, or inside Discord. Each table seats up to 7 players total, and some tables mix bots in with human opponents. The game is free to play and has been online since 2006.

Where to play

KDice is available on three platforms, all using the same Dice Wars–style game:

Platform How to access Notes
Web browser Visit kdice.com and start a game No install needed; runs in the browser
iPhone / Android Free apps for both platforms Same game as the browser version
Discord Play inside Discord Useful if you already spend time in a Discord server

If you just want to try it, the browser version is the fastest route — open the site, read the how-to-play and rules pages if you're new, and join a table.

Who you play against

  • Up to 7 players per table. You plus up to six others battle over a map of territories.
  • Human opponents. Tables are multiplayer, so you'll typically be facing other people.
  • Bots may be seated too. Some tables include bots alongside human players, so don't assume every opponent is a person.
  • Competitive layers. A new monthly leaderboard race starts each month, and tournaments run daily, including freerolls (free-entry tournaments).

How a turn works, briefly

Each territory holds a stack of dice. On your turn you attack a neighboring territory; both sides roll their dice and the higher total wins the territory. It plays much like Risk, which is why the game is often described as a Dice Wars variant.

What to check before you commit

  • Platform fit: if you want mobile play, confirm the app is available for your device's store region — the site lists free iPhone and Android apps, but availability details aren't spelled out.
  • Bots at the table: if you specifically want human-only competition, look at the table setup before joining, since bots can be mixed in.
  • Tournament timing: daily tournaments and monthly leaderboard resets mean the competitive scene is continuous; check the site's tournament listings for the current schedule.
