Where Staff, Students, Alumni and Parents Find Their Sections on the UNILAG Website

Updated

The University of Lagos website (unilag.edu.ng) puts audience-specific entry points in its header menu: Staff, Students, Alumni and Parents each have their own link, alongside UNILAG Statistics, Give to UNILAG and a site Search. Open the homepage and look at the top navigation bar — that row is the fastest route to the section that matches who you are. The same header repeats as you scroll, so you don't need to hunt for it.

Audience links in the header

The header is organised by who you are rather than by faculty or department, which is the main navigation logic to understand:

Link Who it serves What to expect
Staff Academic and non-academic employees Staff-facing portals and internal resources
Students Current undergraduates and postgraduates Student services and academic information
Alumni Graduates of the university Alumni community and engagement pages
Parents Parents and guardians Information for families of students
UNILAG Statistics Anyone needing institutional data University figures and facts
Give to UNILAG Donors and supporters Giving and fundraising information

If you are unsure which applies to you — for example, a recent graduate who still needs student services — start with the section matching your current status, then check Alumni for post-graduation resources.

News, events and university updates

The homepage carries a running feed of UNILAG News and Upcoming Events, so announcements, rankings results and conference notices appear on the front page rather than being buried in a sub-site. Items in the feed include:

  • Rankings — for example, UNILAG retaining its position as Nigeria's top university in the THE World University Rankings 2027.
  • Upcoming Events — such as NIGERCON 2026, the IEEE Nigeria International Conference on Digital Transformation, scheduled for November 5–6.
  • General News — hosting of delegations, senate celebrations, staff training notices and facility commissioning.

A See more news link at the end of the feed leads to the full news listing. The site also links to a Videos page for media content.

Contacting the communication unit

The email [email protected] appears in the header area of the homepage. Use it for enquiries about news, announcements or communication matters rather than for admissions or student records, which belong with the relevant audience section.

Practical tips

  • Use the Search menu in the header if you know what you need but not where it lives; it sits beside the audience links.
  • Check the news feed first for time-sensitive information such as event dates or ranking announcements before browsing deeper sections.
  • Bookmark your audience page rather than the homepage if you visit regularly — it saves a step each time.
  • The site is presented in English (en-GB), and the homepage describes the university as located in Lagos, Nigeria, with more than 60 years of service.
