Where to Download SUPER ZSNES for Your Platform

Updated

SUPER ZSNES is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS, with downloads linked directly from zsnes.com. Pick the build that matches your device: desktop users get Windows, Mac, or Linux installers, while mobile users go through Google Play, Itch.io (APK), or the iOS App Store. The current release reference is v0.320. Note that no ROMs are included — you must supply your own game files.

Available Platforms and Where to Get Them

Platform Where to download
Windows Windows Download link on zsnes.com
Mac Mac Download link on zsnes.com
Linux Linux Download link on zsnes.com
Android Google Play, or Itch.io APK
iOS App Store

The site lists all of these under its Downloads section, so the desktop builds and the mobile store links sit in one place. Android has two routes: the standard Google Play listing, or an APK from Itch.io if you prefer to sideload.

What You Get in the Current Release (v0.320)

The latest release notes on the site describe v0.320 as the version to check against your download. Changes in this release include:

  • An option to disable loading of enhancement data (both visual and audio)
  • Initial RetroAchievements implementation — no hardcore mode yet, which the developers say will come once everything is verified working
  • OBC1 emulation
  • Rearranged mobile buttons to reduce accidental presses
  • A load state confirmation popup, which you enable in the options
  • A fix for an upper memory RAM address Pro Action Replay cheat issue

If you are downloading for a phone, the button layout change and the optional load-state confirmation are the two items most likely to affect how it feels on first launch.

Before You Download: ROMs Are Not Included

SUPER ZSNES ships as an emulator only. The site states plainly that enhancement data contains no ROM or copyrighted data, and that you need to provide the ROMs yourself. It also asks users not to request ROMs from the developers. Plan on sourcing your own game files before the emulator is useful.

Choosing Your Build

  • Desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux): use the matching download link on zsnes.com. This is the straightforward path if you want the classic UI, save states, rewind, and the Super Enhancement Engine on a larger screen.
  • Android: Google Play is the simpler install; the Itch.io APK suits users who want the package outside the store.
  • iOS: the App Store listing is the only mobile route given for Apple devices.

The Super Enhancement Engine currently covers nine games — Chrono Trigger, F-Zero, Gradius 3, Mega Man X, Super Castlevania 4, Super Ghouls & Ghosts, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario World, and Super Metroid — and the site says more will be added as development continues. All enhancements can be individually disabled, so the platform choice does not lock you into them.
