Where to Download uNmINeD and Find Its Community Resources

Updated

Go to unmined.net for the official downloads, release notes, and screenshots. The same site points you to three community resources: a subreddit for sharing map images, a Discord server, and BedrockMap for an online, browser-based map. uNmINeD runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS, and reads Minecraft Java Edition, Minecraft Bedrock Edition, and Hytale world files.

Official Download Entry: unmined.net

The site's downloads section is the place to get the app. It also hosts the news feed and release notes, so you can check what changed before updating.

The page lists two development snapshots at the time of writing:

Version Status Notable changes
uNmINeD 0.20.11-dev Development snapshot Fixed lossy WebP transparent background; missing Bedrock LevelDB *.ldb files are ignored instead of throwing an error; LibDeflate added for linux-musl (Alpine) builds; faster Bedrock-to-Java block conversion; 2D rendering speed optimizations; isometric mode improvements (14° pitch angle, redesigned block model pipeline, large memory reduction, better CPU utilization)
uNmINeD 0.20.10-dev Development snapshot Fixed Bedrock LevelDB parsing errors

Both are labeled dev builds, so treat them as test versions rather than a stable release. The 0.20.11-dev notes also state that isometric image and web export is not yet available, and that isometric documentation is still coming.

Community Resources Listed on the Site

  • Subreddit — the site describes it as a place for posting beautiful map images. Use it to see what other people's worlds look like when rendered and to share your own exports.
  • Discord server — linked from the same page for direct contact with the project's community.
  • BedrockMap — the online option. You export your Minecraft world and upload it to BedrockMap, which generates an interactive map in minutes that you can share on Discord, Reddit, or elsewhere. The site says no complex setup is required.

Choosing Between the Desktop App and BedrockMap

The two routes serve different needs, so pick based on what you want to do:

  • Use the uNmINeD desktop app if you want to browse a 2D overview map locally and export it as an image or a web page. It supports Java Edition, Bedrock Edition, and Hytale worlds across Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Use BedrockMap if you only need a shareable interactive map and would rather not install anything. The trade-off is that it works from an exported world you upload, not from your local world files directly.

Practical Notes Before You Start

  • If you plan to try the isometric mode in 0.20.11-dev, the release notes say it needs a Java Edition client JAR for both Java and Bedrock worlds, selected in the World/App settings under "Default Minecraft client JAR to use." For Bedrock, you also select a vanilla resource pack ZIP. Versions don't have to match exactly; the latest resource pack usually works.
  • The site does not state pricing or login requirements for the downloads or for BedrockMap, so check those pages directly if that matters to you.
  • Because the newest entries are dev snapshots, read the release notes on unmined.net before relying on a new build for a large world.
