Where to Find Admission Information on the IUB Website

Updated

Prospective students can find admission information on the IUB website (iub.edu.pk) through the Admission section in the main navigation menu. That section links to Admissions, Fee Structure, Eligibility Criteria, Important Dates, Merit Determination, Merit Lists, and Admission Queries — the pages you should review before applying.

What the Admission Section Covers

The site's navigation lists these admission-related pages:

Page What it is for
Admissions Entry point for the admission process
Fee Structure Program costs to review before applying
Eligibility Criteria Requirements you must meet for a program
Important Dates Admission timeline and deadlines
Merit Determination How merit is calculated
Merit Lists Published lists of admitted/selected candidates
Admission Queries Channel for admission questions

How to Use It Before Applying

  1. Open iub.edu.pk and go to the Admission menu.
  2. Read Eligibility Criteria for the program you want and confirm you qualify.
  3. Check Important Dates so you do not miss the application window.
  4. Review Fee Structure to understand the cost commitment.
  5. Read Merit Determination to understand how selection is decided.
  6. Submit your application through the Admissions page.
  7. After processing, check Merit Lists — admission outcomes are published there.
  8. If anything is unclear, use Admission Queries to ask.

Expected result: you enter the process knowing whether you qualify, when to apply, what it costs, and how selection works — and you know where the final outcome will appear.

Common Pitfalls

  • Skipping Eligibility Criteria. Requirements differ by program; check the specific one, not just the general page.
  • Missing Important Dates. Deadlines are time-bound; confirm them on the site rather than relying on secondhand information.
  • Assuming a merit list means enrollment is complete. Merit Lists show selection; follow any further instructions the university provides.
  • Ignoring Admission Queries. For program-specific or status questions, this is the designated contact route.

Related Pages Worth Knowing

The site also lists Scholarships, Academic Calendar, and Campuses (Abbasia, Baghdad ul Jaded, Khawaja Fareed, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan). Campus matters because program availability and facilities can differ by location. The university was established in 1975 by upgrading the historical Jamia Abbasia institute, and its stated aim is to grow as an internationally recognized institution — useful context, but the admission pages above are what you act on.
