Where to Find Alberta Soccer Tournaments, Matches, and Calendars
Updated
Alberta Soccer keeps its schedules in two separate calendars on albertasoccer.com: a Tournament Calendar for upcoming games with dates and locations, and a Meetings Calendar for Board, Governance, and Competitions meetings. If you want to watch games rather than attend them, the Recent Matches section on the homepage links to individual match videos, with a "Watch All Past Matches" option for the full archive. Both calendars are reachable directly from the homepage.
The two calendars and what each one covers
The homepage presents them as distinct tools, and mixing them up is the most common source of confusion.
| Calendar | What it lists | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| Tournament Calendar | Upcoming games, dates, and locations | Players, families, coaches, spectators looking for match schedules |
| Meetings Calendar | Upcoming Board, Governance, and Competitions meetings | Administrators, district and club officials, governance participants |
The Tournament Calendar is the one to check when you want to know when and where soccer is being played. The Meetings Calendar is administrative — it tells you when decision-making bodies convene, not when teams take the field.
How to reach each calendar
From the Alberta Soccer homepage:
- Find the Tournament Calendar block, which is labelled with "Upcoming games, dates and locations" and a View Calendar button.
- Find the Meetings Calendar block, labelled with "Upcoming Board, Governance, and Competitions meetings" and its own View Calendar button.
- Select the relevant View Calendar button to open that calendar.
Expected result: you land on the calendar listing for the category you chose. If you're looking for a match and see meeting titles instead, you've opened the wrong calendar — go back and use the other button.
Watching matches through Recent Matches
The homepage's Recent Matches section lists individual fixtures with a Watch Now link for each. Examples shown on the site include Calgary SWU vs. BTB 11G, Callies United vs. Calgary Villans M, Calgary Foothills vs. Edmonton Scottish 08G, and several MUSC vs. Calgary Villains fixtures across different age and gender groups.
To watch:
- Scroll to Recent Matches on the homepage.
- Pick the fixture you want and select Watch Now.
- For anything not listed there, use Watch All Past Matches to reach the broader archive.
Note that "Recent Matches" is a highlights-and-replays style entry point, not a live schedule — for what's coming up, use the Tournament Calendar instead.
Which resource to use for which question
- "When and where is the next tournament or game?" → Tournament Calendar.
- "Can I watch a game that already happened?" → Recent Matches, then Watch All Past Matches.
- "When is the next Board or Competitions meeting?" → Meetings Calendar.
- "Which district am I in?" → the alberta soccer districts section, which links to View All Districts (a separate question from scheduling, but it sits on the same homepage).
Common sticking points
- Calendar confusion. The two calendars sit near each other on the homepage with similar "View Calendar" buttons. Read the label above the button before clicking.
- No dates in Recent Matches. Those entries are viewing links, not schedule entries, so don't expect kickoff times there.
- Looking for a specific team. The homepage shows a sample of recent matches; the full set lives behind Watch All Past Matches.
For anything beyond schedules and viewing — player, coach, and referee programs, or district lookup — the homepage's Programs and alberta soccer districts sections are the next places to go.
