Where to Find Beej's Programming Guides and Tech Blog on beej.us

Updated

Beej's Guides and his tech blog are both linked directly from the "Stuff to Learn" section of the beej.us home page. The home page is a simple link hub, so there is no search box or menu to dig through — you scroll to "Stuff to Learn" and click one of the two links. This applies to the current version of the page as described on the site itself.

The two links you want

The "Stuff to Learn" section lists exactly two destinations:

  • Beej's Guides — the collection of programming guides.
  • My tech blog — Brian "Beej Jorgensen" Hall's blog.

Both are plain text links on the home page. There is no separate subdomain or login step mentioned on the page.

What the guides cover

The home page does not enumerate the guide topics; it only labels the collection "Beej's Guides." The one topic the page itself makes explicit is networking, through the site's own framing of the guides as a body of technical writing. If you need to confirm whether a specific topic is covered, open the Guides link and read the index there rather than relying on the home page.

How to navigate there

  1. Open beej.us.
  2. Find the heading "Stuff to Learn" (it sits near the top, above "Places to Visit").
  3. Click Beej's Guides for the programming guides, or My tech blog for the blog.

Expected result: you land on the guides index or the blog, respectively. If you instead land somewhere unrelated, you have likely clicked a link under "Places to Visit," "Books," or "Utilities" — those are separate sections for personal projects, digitized public-domain books, and small tools.

Other sections, so you don't confuse them

Section What it holds
Stuff to Learn Beej's Guides, My tech blog
Places to Visit Personal and community links (e.g., The Bend Hackers Guild, Internet Pizza Server, Lincoln Highway stuff)
Books Digitized public-domain books, plus "Books I've read" and vocab flashcards
Utilities Small tools such as a Unicode Pixel Art Tool and Rot13 encryption
About Bio, CV/resume, and contact ([email protected])

Common snags

  • Looking for a search function. The page is a static link list; there is no on-site search described. Use your browser's find-in-page for a heading name instead.
  • Expecting the blog under "Places to Visit." It is not there — it is under "Stuff to Learn."
  • Assuming a topic list on the home page. Only the guides collection is named; individual guide subjects appear after you follow the link.
