Where to Find CIH Events, News, Policy Work and Housing Jobs

Updated

All four are reachable from the main navigation on cih.org: Events covers upcoming events, webinars, recordings and exhibition/sponsorship; Resources holds the Knowledge Hub, blogs, articles, publications, podcasts and mentoring; Policy covers policy work, the policy team and policy networks; and Housing jobs is a top-level menu item alongside Membership, Education and About us. The site is available in English and Welsh (Cymraeg), and you can reach the same sections from the footer-style links repeated across pages.

Events: upcoming sessions, recordings and sponsorship

The Events section is split into four parts:

  • Our events and webinars — the main listing of what's coming up.
  • Browse all events — the full events index if you want to scan everything rather than the featured items.
  • Recordings — past sessions you can watch back.
  • Exhibition and sponsorship — for organisations that want a presence at CIH events.

CIH describes its events as opportunities to "learn with inspiring and challenging speakers from housing and beyond, to build networks with colleagues, solve problems and scan the horizon." In practice, that means the events listing is the place to start whether you want to attend, catch up on a recording, or discuss sponsoring.

To find an event: open Events in the main navigation, choose Our events and webinars for the current programme or Browse all events for the full list, then open the individual event page for details. If you missed something, check Recordings rather than the upcoming list.

News, blogs, publications and podcasts

The Resources menu is the home for day-to-day content:

What you need Where it sits
Latest news Latest news in the main navigation (also linked from the homepage)
Blogs and articles Resources → Blogs and articles
Publications Resources → Publications
Podcasts Resources → Podcasts
Research and reference material Resources → Knowledge Hub
Mentoring Resources → Mentoring

The homepage's Latest news block is the quickest way to see recent items; the Resources sub-pages are better when you want a specific format, such as a podcast or a publication.

Policy work and policy networks

The Policy menu has three entries:

  • Our policy work — CIH's policy positions and activity.
  • Our policy team — who works on policy at CIH.
  • Policy networks — the networks through which members engage with policy topics.

The homepage currently leads with the Competence and Conduct Standard, which CIH states came into effect on 1 October 2026 for all registered providers in England, with a dedicated page on how CIH can support providers in meeting it. Two related campaigns are also featured: Behind Every Home, the CIH presidential campaign by Evie Copland showcasing the impact of housing professionals across the UK and Ireland, and Proud to Be Professional, which addresses the upcoming professionalism mandate in England and wider discussions across the rest of the UK and Ireland. If your reason for visiting is the Standard, start from that page rather than the general policy listing.

Housing jobs and getting involved

Housing jobs appears as a top-level item in the main navigation, so it is one click from any page. For everything else — careers at CIH itself, contacting the organisation, or finding ways to contribute — use About us (purpose and governance), Get involved, Careers at CIH and Contact us, all listed in the navigation.

Practical notes

  • Membership-gated content: CIH states that members receive access to member-exclusive events, so some event listings may assume membership. Membership grades, fees and payment, and renewal are handled under Membership; the site does not publish prices on the pages summarised here, so check the Fees and payment page for current figures.
  • Login: a Login and Join now control sits in the header, with My CIH and Login help under Membership for account issues.
  • Language: a Cymraeg switch is available in the header if you prefer Welsh.
  • For organisations: separate pathways exist under For organisations (strategic membership pathways, board membership) and Housing Academy (training for organisations), which is where to look if you are booking on behalf of a team rather than an individual.
