EnglishWhere to Find Filk Conventions Listed by Interfilk
Updated
Interfilk lists filk conventions on the Filk Conventions page of interfilk.org. The site notes that while filk music appears at many science fiction and fantasy events, there are conventions that focus specifically on filk, and that page is where Interfilk points readers for those events. To reach it, start from the site's main navigation and open the "Filk Conventions" link.
What the Filk Conventions Page Covers
According to the site, the page is meant to help you learn more about conventions where filk is the focus, as distinct from general sci-fi and fantasy events that merely feature filk music. The homepage summary states: "While filk music is featured at many science fiction and fantasy events, there are conventions that focus specifically on filk. Read more about conventions."
The available site excerpt does not show the actual convention names, dates, or locations listed on that page, so treat the page itself as the authoritative, current list rather than relying on secondhand summaries.
How to Use the Site to Find Events
- Open interfilk.org and locate the navigation menu.
- Select "Filk Conventions" to view the conventions page.
- Read the page for the conventions Interfilk highlights as filk-focused.
- Cross-check related pages if you want context on who attends: the "Interfilk Guests" section explains that Interfilk sends noteworthy filkers as guests to conventions outside their home region, and "Guest Bios" profiles those guests.
Expected result: you land on a page describing filk-focused conventions and can identify which events to investigate further. If the page seems sparse, note that the site separates convention information from guest and grant information, so check those sections too.

Common Pitfalls
- Expecting a general sci-fi event list. The page is about filk-focused conventions; the site explicitly separates these from broader sci-fi and fantasy events that feature filk.
- Assuming the list is exhaustive or current. The excerpt does not confirm update frequency, so verify details like dates with the convention itself.
- Looking for pricing or registration on Interfilk. The available material contains no pricing or payment information; convention attendance details belong to the individual conventions.
For the most direct answer: go to interfilk.org and open the Filk Conventions page.
