Where to Find PeopleForBikes Membership, Stories, and Donation Pages
Updated
PeopleForBikes puts membership access, stories, and donating in three different places on peopleforbikes.org. Membership and login sit behind the Access Your Membership Login link in the site header. Stories live under the Stories menu item, which splits into Infrastructure, Policy, and Participation. Donating is a standalone Donate link in the same top menu. All three are reachable from the homepage without creating an account first.
Membership Access and Login
The homepage header includes an Access Your Membership Login entry alongside Search and the main menu. Use it when you already have a membership and need to reach your account area.
- Input: your existing membership credentials.
- Action: select Access Your Membership Login from the header.
- Expected result: you land on the member login area rather than the public content pages.
If you are not yet a member, the site's public pages do not state membership prices or sign-up terms, so check the membership area itself for current options rather than assuming a free tier.
Stories: Infrastructure, Policy, and Participation
PeopleForBikes organizes its work around three pillars, and the Stories section follows the same structure:
| Section | What it covers | Example content on the site |
|---|---|---|
| Infrastructure | Building safe, connected places to ride | The Great Bike Infrastructure Project, City Ratings, Bicycle Network Analysis |
| Policy | E-bike planning and regulation, pro-bike legislation | E-bike guidance for cities, states, and federal legislators |
| Participation | Getting more people riding | Linked from the main Stories menu |
To reach them, open Stories in the top menu and pick the pillar you want. Recent items shown on the homepage include "2024's Best Places to Bike" and a piece on how pro-bike policies changed Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Research and Data
If your interest is reports rather than news, the Research + Data section collects academic research and reports on topics affecting the bike industry. The separate Resource Marketplace is described as the bicycle industry's leading authority on market intelligence — useful if you need data for a project rather than a story to read.
Donating and Contacting the Organization
Donate appears as its own link in the top menu, separate from Stories and Membership. Selecting it takes you to the giving page; the site does not publish donation amounts or processing details on the homepage, so review the page itself before giving.
For questions that don't fit a form, Contact Us is listed in the footer area alongside Quick Links.
Quick Routing Guide
- I'm already a member → Access Your Membership Login (header).
- I want to read about bike infrastructure, policy, or participation → Stories, then choose a pillar.
- I need reports or market data → Research + Data or Resource Marketplace.
- I want to support the work financially → Donate.
- I need to reach a person → Contact Us in the footer.
One practical note: the header also links to a network of sites, so if a search result sends you to a sub-site, use the main menu to get back to membership, stories, or donating rather than hunting through the network pages.
