Where to Find Slidev Documentation, Showcases, and Learning Resources
Updated
Slidev's official site (sli.dev) organizes everything you need into four resource areas: the Guide and Reference for documentation, Showcases and Curated Covers for examples, Theme Gallery and Addon Gallery for extensions, and Learning Resources plus Release Notes for ongoing learning. All of these are reachable from the site's top navigation. The current documented version is v53.0.0, and the site is available in English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.
Official Documentation
The documentation is split into two main sections, both linked from the top navigation bar.
Guide
The Guide covers the core workflow of building a presentation:
- Why Slidev — the rationale behind the tool
- Getting Started — initial setup
- Syntax Guide — how to write slides
- User Interface — the presenter and editing UI
- Animations — motion and transitions
- Theme & Addons — extending a deck
- Components and Layouts — building blocks for slides
- Exporting and Hosting — getting a deck out the door
- Work with AI — AI-related workflows
- FAQ — common questions
Reference
The Reference section is the lookup layer for configuration and internals:
- Built-in — CLI, components, and layouts that ship with Slidev
- Customize — configurations, directory structure, highlighter, Vite and plugins, the Vue app, UnoCSS, code runners, transformers, Monaco, KaTeX, Mermaid, routes, shortcuts, context menu, fonts, and pre-parser
- Advanced — global context, writing layouts, writing themes, and writing addons
If you are configuring a specific integration (Mermaid, KaTeX, Monaco), go straight to the matching page under Customize rather than reading the Guide top to bottom.
For LLM and tooling use
The site exposes two optimized Markdown endpoints:
/llms.txt— optimized Markdown documentation/llms-full.txt— the full documentation bundle
These are useful when you want to feed Slidev's docs into an AI assistant or a documentation tool instead of browsing the HTML site.
Showcases and Examples
Two navigation entries point to real decks and visual references:
- Showcases — presentations built with Slidev
- Curated Covers — a collection of cover designs
Use Showcases when you want to see how a finished deck behaves, and Curated Covers when you are choosing a visual starting point.
Themes and Addons
The site maintains two galleries for extensions:
| Gallery | What it lists |
|---|---|
| Theme Gallery | Available Slidev themes |
| Addon Gallery | Available Slidev addons |
These are the canonical places to browse before writing your own theme or addon — the Reference's Writing Themes and Writing Addons pages cover the authoring side.
Learning Resources and Release Notes
- Learning Resources — curated material for learning Slidev
- Release Notes — version history; the site currently documents v53.0.0
Release Notes is the place to check when an upgrade changes behavior, since the documented version number appears in the site footer alongside the language switcher.
