Where to Find the HKIP President's Message and Latest Institute News

Updated

The President's Message and the Institute's latest news are both reachable from the homepage of hkip.org.hk, the official website of The Hong Kong Institute of Planners (HKIP). The President's Message appears as a titled entry in the homepage's main content area, and recent announcements are collected under the "What's New" heading on the same page. Each entry links through to a detail page for the full item.

The President's Message

On the homepage, look for the entry labelled "President's Message 會長獻辭". It sits among the featured items in the main content area, alongside the awards and event blocks. Selecting the "DETAILS 詳情" link beneath it opens the full message.

This is the section to check when you want the President's current statement on the Institute's direction, rather than a specific event or award announcement.

Latest Institute News

Recent announcements are grouped under "What's New 最新消息" near the bottom of the homepage. The homepage also carries a set of featured banners for current items, so the most prominent news tends to appear there first.

The items visible on the homepage at the time of writing show the range of what gets posted:

How the News Items Work

Each entry follows the same pattern: a short bilingual title on the homepage, followed by a "Details 詳情" link. The homepage gives you the headline only; the detail page holds the substance — for example, the awardee list for the GBA Planning Awards 2026, or registration information for the awards events.

This means the homepage is best used as an index. If you are looking for a specific announcement, scan the titles under "What's New" and the featured banners, then follow the "Details" link on the matching item.

Practical Notes

  • The site is published in English (en-GB) with Chinese titles alongside English ones, so both language versions of a heading appear together.
  • The homepage does not display a date next to each item in the material reviewed, so use the detail page to confirm timing before acting on an event or registration notice.
  • For awards-related queries, the homepage distinguishes between the awardees list, event registration, and results announcement — these are separate entries, so pick the one matching what you need.

If you cannot find a particular item, the featured banner area and "What's New" are the two places to check before assuming it is not published.
