Where to Find the US Speedskating Events Calendar and Competition News

Updated

The US Speedskating website (usspeedskating.org) is the place to go for both: the Events Calendar section is linked from the site's main navigation, and competition news appears as dated articles on the home page and news sections. Use the calendar when you need dates and event listings; use the news posts when you want results, team announcements, and season previews.

Finding the Events Calendar

The site's navigation includes an Events Calendar link alongside sections such as About US Speedskating, Membership, Proud Partners, and Find A Club. That calendar is the entry point for scheduled competitions and season events.

To use it:

  1. Open usspeedskating.org.
  2. Locate Events Calendar in the site navigation.
  3. Browse by date to find upcoming competitions and season events.

The site does not publish a separate public list of calendar fields or filters in the available material, so treat the calendar itself as the authoritative source for dates rather than any third-party schedule.

Following Competition News

Competition coverage is published as dated news items. Examples visible on the site include:

News item Date shown
Brandon Kim, Kristen Santos-Griswold Open Season With U.S. Overall Titles Sep 28, 2026
Desert Classic Opens 26-27 Season with an Expanded Format Aug 18, 2026
Andrew Heo Leads U.S. Representation at the Bangkok 2026 ISU Development Short Track Camp Aug 18, 2026
Introducing the 2026-27 Long Track National Team Jul 7, 2026
US Speedskating announces 2026 Short Track World Tour Team (team announcement)

These illustrate the two main news types: event coverage (the Desert Classic season opener, U.S. Overall Titles) and team announcements (Long Track National Team, Short Track World Tour Team). Checking the home page and news listings gives you both without needing a separate results database.

What Else the Site Offers

Beyond the calendar and news, the site links to:

  • Meet the Teams and History sections for background on national teams and the sport's record.
  • Membership information, relevant if you want to compete rather than just follow results.
  • Find A Club, a map-based tool for locating a rink or club near you — the site notes that many legendary speed skaters started through local clubs, and suggests using the map to get started even if no rink appears nearby.

Practical Tips

  • Dates on news posts reflect publication, not event dates. A post dated Aug 18, 2026 may preview a season that runs later; confirm actual competition dates in the Events Calendar.
  • Team announcements are seasonal. Rosters for the Long Track National Team and Short Track World Tour Team are posted as separate articles, so search the news section by team name if you're tracking a specific skater.
  • Some page elements require JavaScript. The site notes that sponsored ads and an embedded video need JavaScript enabled; if a section appears blank, check your browser settings before assuming the content is missing.
